  1. I don't have a hot glue gun... will a heat gun be hot enough?
  2. Can you confirm this? Sh*t load of wrecked Mondeos I could pillage! 24 years young mate. Thanks for looking.
  3. Picked a little claw tool up today, Andy. Will give it a whirl.
  4. Thanks Adeeb. Feels like one step forward, two steps back a lot of the time but will be very happy if everything runs properly when reassembled... Then gotta to find a hoist to do the suspension... Never ending!
  5. Only costs around $300-400 to have recovered professionally. You probably won't find a used headliner for much less unless you go to pick a part, then you've got to remove it yourself.
  6. Do the wheels have hubcentric rings? That can also cause a wobble, though usually noticeable when not braking as well. Check the rotors first - if there's enough left on them a skim might sort your problem. Then check wheels are all balanced and alignment correct. Lastly, check front suspension, particularly upper control arms.
  7. Not to worry, that telescopic antenna idea on the thread Allan posted is pretty good.
  8. Got get the caps off first somehow... They're glued solid, not sure how to do that without f*cking the contacts. This is the light plugs, Tony...
  9. Think it's pretty standard, all the ones I've come across do.
  10. Doesn't look too serious, just a tiny bit of surface rust. As Martin says, it's not the usual nasty rust where water collects in the filler recess. Not even sure that's worth dealing to judging by the pic.
  11. Since the engine's in pieces I can't really drive anywhere! I'd also be interested if anyone's got any bright ideas about what to do with this f*cking mess I've inherited. It's the bulb harness for the side light strips. The running light has stopped working and when I pulled it out to check I found it was full of glue (as in fact are all the other bulb harnesses... Choice). Indicator and fogs are working fine so it must be just the wiring in this plug but not sure how I can get that sh*t out without destroying it. Incidentally, a new harness is around the $250 mark for these... Also choice.
  12. According to the internets all the wiring should be present and correct, just a case of fitting the servo box and plugging in the control unit. Trouble is... I can't see the wiring (but that definitely doesn't mean it's not there) and wondered if anyone else has done it.
  13. Exactly one of those... Except one that's in Auckland not Hamilton! Not sure that will work... It's a round MAF plug with round pins. Good point. The old plug is farked.... Burn biatch!!
  14. The two odd ones out are Lucas injectors. These superseded the original Bosch injectors when they were discontinued. Presumably at some point two of the original Bosch injectors were replaced. Would be nice to swap with Bosch if I can find some cheap enough.
  15. Hope to, if I can find somewhere not too outrageously expensive. Thanks for the link, Brent.
  16. I knew it was low... Didn't know it was that low!
  17. His is mint! Very special car.
  18. Out with the old.... In with the new.... Had imagined it would be harder but took around an hour for all 12 injectors. Most difficult bit is removing the old filters but a small screw, pliers and a bit of force made short work of them. Would be nice to replace the two Lucas injectors but not a priority. Hoping I can get the spray patterns tested and ultrasonically cleaned before they go back in... Screw and pliers to pull the filters out, if the crush ring stays behind just lever the injector on and angle with the screw and pull hard! O-rings are easy to remove with a small hook tool. Cut the side of the pintle cap with a knife so it slips off easily, be careful not to damage the pintle itself. Bang the new filter in lightly with a small hammer and fit the o-rings and pintles. Good as new.
  19. Not sure but am presuming all custom.
  20. Anyone got an AMP extraction tool I could borrow or know of an effective way of getting the pins out of a broken MAF connector? Something like this:
  21. DOHC would be awesome. Alan says one of his mate's is close to completing a DOHC S70 though there are quite a few attempted and failed DOHC M70 and S70 projects online... An no completed.
  22. Was pleasantly surprised, Mike. The injectors are pretty messed up... I've got new seals, filters and pintles but not sure I'm brave enough to tackle full recons as they're quite fragile.
  23. Pulled the top half off for reconditioning. Thanks to Martin for help and a garage! Took a few hours but nothing too difficult, just a few tricky bolts securing the manifolds and a fair bit of mucking around to prise the valve covers off. Cleaning and powdercoating next week plus a few other jobs while everything's out: Clean and replace injector seals Clean inlet and injector ports Paint any red still showing in the bay that I can get to Wrinkle black the strut bar Paint the washer tanks Lock the banjo bolts (one was loose, though that's not too bad in 23 years)
  24. Did a deal with Alan Ferguson. It was a damaged one so I paid for the repairs. Got most of the fitting kit now but need to track down the csi air duct. The little scoops and license plate base will have to wait and are non-essential to the bumper fitment... Although, as said, I think it'll be a fair while before I can afford to get all the csi bits painted.
