Doubt you'll find a used one unbroken and if you do, it will be likely to break soon, as it will be 11+ years old. Just buy new... When I replaced mine it was cheapest buying overseas.

I've got access to a CBD screening room. Shall we organise a Bimmersport screening, John???
-
I must have been good this year.
-
That IS cheap! PM'd, thanks.

So you welded up an E39 ute then went to welding night classes, Francois? Sounds like the cart leading the horse a bit!
-
If you have a new E31 850i MC I'd be keen but you can get a seal kit for it so a used one is no good. Otherwise E32 735 or 750 (740 is different for some reason, go figure?) will fit and I can get a seal kit so happy with any condition really. The cheaper the better! Thanks

Would never use Wolf again personally. Arrogant and only helpful if you choose to do exactly what they recommend. And they use sh*t Flowmaster mufflers.
-
Marked on here... If you've still got it and it still sounds droney then either get some high flow cats or small resonators where the cats were. The Flowmaster will also create drone because it's crap.
-
Lose the Flowmaster - piece of crap and will never sound good and probably worsens rather than improves performance. The drone is there because you removed the factory Y resonator. Keep it, it's by far the best design to keep the cabin drone to a minimum. Then get a decent performance muffler (Eisenmann, Supersprint, etc). Expect to pay $1-2K for a decent setup.

Love to know a ballpark figure then for full repaint and full prep and repaint.
-
Tried and he never replied... I guess as Blair says he's stopped doing homers. Thanks. I could probably prep myself but really need to get the engine out to do it properly as the PO made a bit of a half-assed attempt at the bay, so all the black will need to go. Original colour code is 308 Brilliantrot but am thinking about a couple of other possibles - 229 Sebringgrau Metallic and 05-407-1801 Giallo. All OE 8er options. Does your mate do prep as well or just paint? Sounds to cheap to be true! Will definitely give them a call.

Sorry John, that kite has flown but you could try contacting Brent. He bought the kit from me and, as far as I know, hasn't installed it yet so may be willing to sell if the price is right.
-
Wonder if the cylinder will fit the E31? Do you still have it?
-
Yeah, I've bought a few bits and pieces from Dinan in the past (never enough to earn a badge) and they've all been excellent, if a little pricey on occasion.
-
Gents, we should go for a drive sometime over Xmas/New Year once Alice is running as she should!
-
Saw what must be a very rare or unique e63 Dinan 6 in Grey Lynn yesterday, if it's genuine. Looked amazing. The only Bangle BMW I'd own. Couldn't stop for a proper pic, sorry. Anyone know if it's the real deal and what Dinan tuning it has?

I understand the desire to track your car in a more controlled environment than some of the public track days, it's so much more fun and safer! The problem with any kind of competitive event, whether your on your own on the track, or with other cars is that you are pushing the car to be fastest. Taking that competitive aspect away does help drivers focus on the driving instead of the speed and will reduce the number of incidents. Inclined to agree with Jon. Full safety equipment for competitive or timed racing, helmet and overalls for non-competitive track. Let's just build enthusiasm for private track days!!

$2000 for 5kgs??? WTF? I just sent some presents to my family in the UK weighing more than that for $80. When I emigrated I shipped a shed load of stuff on a boat. Took it's sweet time getting here but cost f*ck all.
-
I wouldn't have thought it a conflict of interest but you're probably right... People get precious about these sort of things. Still, if you go through due process, engage them all, etc - I don't see why it couldn't run successfully in parallel. Wouldn't be the same cars, even if it's a few of the same drivers!

Are there any?

Some good pics flying around on here and Facebook but there seems to be a bit of a trend for some heavy-handed post-production, although it is tough to get good shots on such a bright sunny day! Photogs trust your skills with the camera not the computer!! PS Isn't Alan's Schnitzer CSi's interior just awesome!! So OTT, I love it!

Don't worry Amber, you're already on our list for next year's event!! We've got a debrief and planning session before xmas and will be in touch some time after that. E36 next year so it'll be a big one!!
