Most colours will go well with silver - just make sure it contrasts as another light colour would probably look pretty foul. If you want striking a red or blue could look good, or if you want something a little more subtle a dark grey or black as per the yellow one. You can't see much of it on here but you can see that red would look good:

Spotted this outside my office a few days ago... Someone's project?

No, the road code clearly states that you can pass on either side on a multi-lane road in New Zealand. Stupid rule but it's legal. It is illegal in the UK where I learnt to drive so a habit I generally practice unless there are blithering idiots on the road.

Not really a grey area as it's very clear in the road code. It's illegal in the UK where I learnt to drive. When I emigrated 14 years ago I had to learn the NZ road code which is mostly very similar but there were two distinct differences (one of which has now been aligned with the UK). 1) Always give way to the right - even when it's really dangerous to do so 2) It's okay to undertake in the left lane of a multi-lane road Neither is safe and first has been dispensed with. If it's clear in the outer lane I would always overtake but as many have mentioned in Auckland, this is often not possible because of the halfwits on the road at the same time.

Tis true though not the safest law around. Sometimes I stick cruise control on at 100kph as a personal challenge to see if I can weave through the semi-conscious highway drivers without having to switch it off.

Tom - M3_Power - has been doing a fair bit in this area. I think he's even been able to 'virginise' a DME but not sure he's tackled anything as new as yours. Might be worth dropping him a line.

E34 wobble over 80kph/under braking - FIXED
jeffbebe replied to roo's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
All of the above are possibles but start by skimming the brake discs if there's enough of them left. Has cured shaky braking on many a car for me. No point spending up on suspension parts until you've ruled that out. -
A bit of Googling would suggest otherwise... But who knows.

Hmmmnn.... Shocks are on my mid-long term to do list but don't think Koni do an E31 set.

I guess I'm a lover not a fighter, chaps. Peace out.

I should add that the buyer has now contacted me. Sounds like a genuine error - tyre shop were unable to fit to his rims, so he listed on TM to get his money back - which is good to know and has restored my faith in humanity. Wish he'd contacted me sooner though as I'd have taken the tyres back and relisted!!

Caught up on some long promised home improvements and family time this weekend so the car lay idle. However, got a few bits and pieces due to arrive over the next couple of weeks. Once everything's here I'll be putting aside a weekend (and hopefully borrowing some garage space) to do the following: Media blast and paint intake manifolds Clean injectors and replace seals Replace DME and EML coolant sensors Replace DK motors (electronic throttle bodies) and re-sync banks Replace all intake manifold gaskets Hopefully this will sort the remaining niggles and the engine will look 100 times better when it's been cleaned up.

Looking good. Will you track down a motorsport rear bumper for it or keep it standard? (Since you've lost the spare wheel anyway an Msport rear, M5 diffuser and quad exhaust would suit IMO ).

Fantastic car, you must be stoked. Please don't follow this suggestion: A bit more low is good but that linked one looks ridiculous IMO.
-
Definitely will, Dave, but think it will be some way off. Likewise, if you decide to source some leather for yours let me know. Am thinking of removing the skins and restitching with a contrast colour as a stopgap as the black leather in mine is in pretty good shape.

I had an A-Sure unit in my old 528i. Great little unit for the money (think I paid about US$350 from Hong Kong), at the time they didn't have OBC functionality so I didn't bother swapping into my 540i. Good to know they have OBC functions now - great bang for buck.

A stock E36 M3 Evo will be and I think well kept E36 verts ought to be (though like you, I'm not a huge fan of the coupe and four door shape) but getting hard to find any that haven't been horribly butchered by people with caps.

Brand new set that I decided I couldn't really afford. TM price would have got me my money back. Bimmersport price lost me a little bit. My loss is his gain clearly.

Thanks both. Jason, what do you recommend for cleaning? Acetone will get rid of any silicon residue but also probably melt the plastic a bit... Rubbing alcohol and an old toothbrush?
-
This from the man who made a splitter from a piece of ply?! (although yours was rather good). Agreed. Dakar is a bit pastel for my taste. The one in the pic is not a standard BMW colour - much richer, deeper yellow. I think it suits the ridiculousness of the car.
