Thinking of moving on my beautiful 540i to explore other opportunities (an E31!!). Many of you know the car. Those that do will know how much I've spent on the car and how fussy I am. It's in immaculate condition as you can see from the pics. Here's a quick run down of what I've done but feel free to look at my project log and showroom pics for more info: 184,000kms (good for many, many more!) Runs like a dream and idles perfectly from cold and it's genuinely quick (you're welcome to cold start test) Paint is immaculate Genuine xenon facelift headlights Genuine AC Schnitzer wing mirrors ACS replica roof spoiler CF front splitters Refurbished black leather interior and m-sport steering wheel De-cat and custom free flow exhaust (vid below for sound!) Most of the trim inside an out has been refurbished or replaced All new door and windscreen seals within the last 12 months Complete double vanos procedure completed (by Ray's team at HellBM) - this was done as preventative maintenance and was a major job All valve cover and upper timing case gaskets and seals replaced at the same time Has had recent smoke test and no vac leaks Transmission has had full service less than 3,000kms ago Oil change when I stripped and powder coated valve covers less than 1,000kms ago AFE dry air filter Emissions (secondary) air pump removed so no cold start noise/issues Brake calipers removed, cleaned and repainted s/s brake lines and race brake fluid Brand new OEM rotors all round and EBC redstuff pads less then 2,000kms ago Pictured with fully refurbished staggered (8.5" front 9.5" rear) 18" BBS RSII wheels - however may sell with staggered 18" deep dish BBS RX 502s Has performance tune and Dinan tuned trans s/w (which makes the auto transmission a LOT more enjoyable) It has a small oil leak from the rear crankcase seal. I've ordered the parts to repair this and can do it prior to sale or knock a bit off sale price and give the buyer the parts to repair themselves. The car looks and drives brilliantly. I'm not wholly committed to selling yet as I've invested a lot of time and money into the car but will do it if the offer is righ. Not looking to get what it owes me (because it would be absurdly priced if I did) but think it is worth at least $12K (it's insured for $14K). If you drive it you will not be disappointed and, I know everyone says this, but I think you'll be hard pressed to find a better one for that price, even with lower kms. I also have a supercharger kit for the engine that I've not yet installed. Not that keen to sell but may part with it for the right money. Make me an offer for either or both. Exhaust:

What spare wheels do you use for your e90? or alternatives?
jeffbebe replied to ler4_war's topic in General Discussion
Presumably you can switch DSC off though or will it still have a tantrum? -
Is that an accurate calculation or using the OBC because it's lower than the factory spec best for an E39 M5 which was 9.9L/100 highway, 13.9L/100 mixed use and 21.1L/100 city. If it's OBC, I'd say it's not calculating accurately and if it's your own calculation you are definitely not driving it hard enough!

At least you could buy it and if it turns out to be a sh*tter give it back and claim the auction was misrepresentative... Which it is.

Very funny, Tony. Guessing you don't fancy my chances?! Can you change it back to at least increase my chances a little bit! EDIT: Oh wait, didn't realise I could do it in Full Editor.

Yes, some very tempting ones in the UK but an 840 already makes little economic sense, getting a 20 year old do up from the UK, even if I can register it, seems like madness!

Not many of these around, I grant you, the last one I saw was a bit above my price range listed at $27K on TM. Anyway, I'm about to turn 40 so want a more fitting car for my mid-life crisis than my beloved 540i. Absolutely love the E31 shape but not really interested in the V12s; I've driven a couple and wasn't very impressed but I have a supercharger kit lying around that would go neatly into the V8. Would prefer the late model (95+) 840 with the 4.4L V8 instead of the 4L so the sc kit would be a straight bolt on without requiring any modification. Don't care about colour but would like grey/cream leather interior if possible (though not essential) and would prefer motorsport kit. Almost any condition considered as my budget will be whatever I can get for the 540i. Would like to keep the supercharger kit so I can put it in the 840i but would consider selling it for the right offer if it means I can get a mint 840.

Not cheap... When I looked into it for mine it worked out around $1.5K - cheaper to get an aftermarket Dynavin unit or similar.

You're probably right, Ray, and I'm sure I've been guilty of some uncalled for bad-mouthing! I think a fair bit of this topic would be constructive advice to a potential buyer (i.e. $30K regardless of work done is a lot for an 11 year old car when you can get a low kms one for under $12K) but I think the point is that most of the threads posted in the TM section are not prospective buyers. Just people having a laugh at the seller's expense. Perhaps we need two sections... One for gossip and bad mouthing auctions and one for buyer advice!?!

Spotted a couple of gems today on my way back from taking the kid swimming in Newmarket. This E30 M325i And this immaculate E31 840ci - and the turquoise blue colour was stunning in person (though maybe not everyone's cuppa) - not sure if it's a stock colour, Individual or custom painted but it looked great EDIT: I really want an E31... So good to look at!!

Unfortunately, regardless of build quality, etc value of the car will be determined by market and as others have said I think most enthusiasts would rather have an M5 for the same money. I'm sure it's an amazing car but I think he'll be lucky to recoup half what he's spent on it. Sent by transcendental megawaves from an alternate universe.

Who the hell did he/she get to insure it for an agreed value of $30K? Must have solid gold interior trim.

Looking good. Leave them silver IMO, looks clean and much more versatile if you ever want to swap cars or sell.

You care enough to use two exclamation marks, Dave!! Seems fair to advertise when you give your app away for free and Tapatalk is far easier to navigate on a phone than Bimmersport's mobile website. Would happily use a forum app if they had one... But they don't. Now that you've brought it to my attention I have discovered I can switch of the tapatalk signature in he settings.

Why? PS Your notifications above show has liked posts... You can count them! Also, if you get Tapatalk on your phone it will show who and how many likes your posts have but still not sure why that matters?

You haven't lived in the UK, eh, Tristan? Insurance is compulsory and no matter how much money you've got you won't find an insurer that will cover an under 25 on a $600K Lambo! Might be his/her car but it will be on mummy and daddy's insurance policy!!

Save your money and fix the car first.

Did you read about that guy who texted the complete works of Shakespeare to an eBay seller that ripped him off? Just sayin'... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you have travel insurance through your credit card you should get the flight money back. I'd then let TradeMe deal with the seller. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This Lexus in Sydney. Too close to fit the whole thing in the photo but strikingly the same in profile as a new 3 series. Also lots of new 4 series here. The 428i seems the most popular choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your kind of exhaust system, Tony.
