A man of rare taste! Wow!
-
I will ONLY drive a manual (as long as it's custom pea green, with cream leather and teak trim).
-
I copped a 240 quid parking ticket in London so don't get too irate with a $12-40 fine in Auckland, especially if I actually deserve it!
-
Get them from a muffler shop, or TradeMe - cheap as chips.

Just get one of these first... easy.

I imagine the SMG - for all its faults - will be more pleasant with that much daily driving. Manuals are great, more responsive, yada, yada, yada, but when you've got to do 600+kms per week of highway driving an auto or SMG is where it's at! EDIT: By the way, not being argumentative for the sake of it... Just can't fathom getting rid of that beautiful E39. I still want it but my budget's not up there.
-
I'm not doubting that it will be a fun $15K in fuel... But it would be more fun to spend $5K in fuel on the work run in Corolla or something and $10K in fuel at the track in the E39!
-
If you get the Y pipe it wouldn't be hard. Personally I'd have kept the pipes separate and got a dual in/dual out muffler. Would sound a lot better IMO.

Probably got diddled at the pump. EDIT: Don't want to alarm you but you realise that at that consumption you'll be filling the car up 1.6 times per week if you're doing 35K kms per year as you said. That'll be around $280 per week in fuel or almost $15K per year... A deposit on a house (in Waiuku). Hope that raise was a good one! I wouldn't tell any environmentalists that you traded in your V8 for a V10 because you have to drive further... I think a Prius might have been a more considerate choice for the ozone layer!! haha

E39 and E60 M5 both have 70L tanks so the V10 is definitely thirstier. James, who brought the E61 M5 to the dyno day, said he gets about 150kms out of a tank using it round town!! 2kms/L... Awesome! haha

Sounds fair.

Yes but you may get a fault code or CEL on the dash. If you do you'll have to code it out. I removed the SAP on my E39 with no problems.

Love the ingenuity of this solution!

I went on one of these last year. The M135i is definitely a lot of fun and the F10 M5 was epic... That said, the most fun was probably in the 320i because we could push that a lot harder at the controlled speeds on the day.

Yeah, total waste of time marketing on a site with over 300 million users worldwide and now over 2.5mill in NZ. Much better off in the Te Kuiti Bugle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Isn't the TradeMe section for bashing other people's rides rather than slating the looks of a forum sponsor's sale? EDIT: Whether you like it or not it's a good example of a pretty rare car IMO.
-
I think it's because most o/s cars were higher spec'd and came with nav and TV modules which are all stashed behind the backseat rendering a fold down seat impossible. Sometimes cheap is practical... Unless you want to know where you're going or watch TV.

PM'd.

That looks a peach. What's your budget for wheels?
-
Better than calling your aunt a c*nt, I suppose.

Well priced 530d - Now part of Bimmersport

Admins please amend the title of this topic... The accidental misplaced apostrophe sends me into an uncontrollable, hulk-like rage every time I see it. I'd like to think the problem belongs to auto-correct not human error/ignorance. Mainly because I hate auto-correct. -
I think $30K is fair for what it is but you're right, it will be an enthusiast that pays that for a 14 year old car and may take a while to come along. Probably doesn't help that most of us know what you paid for it Great car though, and it would be mine in a heartbeat if I had the coin.

Could you be more pacific, please?
