  1. Anyone on here have DaveO's contact number? PM me if so.
  2. When getting an older car inspected it can be a bit off putting receiving the overwhelming report of things that are not correct. When i picked up my new car I made a list of things to check prior. Big ticket items i.e brakes, suspension, body work, the engine. Choice of tyre is usually a good indicator of how the po has looked after their 'Ultimate repair bill machine'.
  3. Got it sorted. Used NCS expert to turn off the seat, wheel pos and mirror memory in the car memory section (even though only the steering wheel retracted after i tried disabling this using dis) Also turned off the selective unlocking for the key remote. (1 press of unlock in key used to only unlock drivers door. 2 presses unlocked everything else).
  4. I'll bring it along to the meeting this Sunday.
  5. Butyl chord ? I'll give that a go if i can't get new foam gaskets to seal. Also found another leaking point in to the boot via the sleeve for the fuel door locking mechanism. Should be leak free once i'm done with it!
  6. Yeah sika flex, and i was generous with it still lets a wee bit of water in so i think the key is getting the foam gasket and the metal to mate nicely around the edges. I'll need to get some smaller panel beating hammers and blocks of wood i think to get it right. Just a pain in the butt i have to do it twice over as the the other e39 that had the retrofit done leaks a wee bit with pre fl tail lights. Give me vanos work any day!
  7. Some more progress. Eisenmann race back boxes installed. No cats = Loud. Facelift xenon headlights installed. DSP adapter for my ipod kit picked up tonight from our forum sponsor gadgets4u. Epic fail on the facelift LED tail lights install/swap with other M5. The metal buckets need more 'fettling' with a BFH in order for the tail light gaskets to seal against the metal. Thankfully not much rain forecasted as I now have 2 M5's with leaking tail lights :-x After spending a good few hours drilling the bigger holes required, and re-shaping the buckets with a dead blow, checking for leaks after assembly (fail) I got fed up and decided to use this : Waited 24 hours for it to cure. Did a leak test, still leaking. Because the other M5 is also a pre fl, the buckets were beaten with a hammer to get the fl tail lights to fit, I installed new gaskets last year and they did not leak. What's worse is having to A. remove cured urethane, and B. doing the whole job on 2 cars to ensure leak free tail lights that sit nicely. I'll get there...
  8. Clear the codes, see if it returns then take course of action?
  9. As per title I'm after 2 sets, one for the pre fl e39 sedan, and one for the facelift e39 sedan. Any one have any new ones lying around?

Nicely done! Know what u mean about the povo kiwi spec'd cars. My kiwi new m5 doesn't even have an electric rear blind. The ex SA M5 has almost every option ticked.
  11. 8mm drill bit with some electrical tape wrapped around it worked well for me.
  12. Wow. OP just take it back to who ever serviced it and point out the problems. Much more productive then every one having a cry wank over poor service/mental instability.
  13. Very nice! Bet it handles well. Will it have 410 wheel horse powers?
  14. Is it a genuine M3? I know the guards and body kit make it look like one?
  15. About 3 weeks ago Reppers had a 25% off stock not already on sale. 10w60sn happened to be 25% off which worked about to be $85 for 5 litres. Let's group buy a 20 litre drum!
  16. Truely awesome. Great workmanship!
  17. Careless f-wits. Have heard a few stories like this from that business. Know how ya feel!
  18. Might sound way too loud as there are no cats in this one. Might need some resonators in between the oxy sensors to tone it down a bit.
  19. Either reppers or supercheap will have the 10w60 edge SN on sale soon. Can't buy it in 1l quantities here sadly.
  20. On to the diff input seal. Took a mate and I 2 hours this morning. Everything went smoothly and was good to see the Guibo was recently replaced. As you can see the input seal was leaking badly and had made a mess that was not fun to clean up. Oxygen sensors unplugged, exhaust removed as one piece, driveshaft out and then on to cleaning up baked on diff oil. Stones caught in between the heat shield and driveshaft grinding away at the paint on the shaft Before After, with new input seal in place. New gearbox oil as recommended by Kayne Barrie. The old fluid looked original, black. Driveshaft back in, exhaust wrestled in to place and some more clean up. Job done! Next job is to install these.
  21. Tough call to say it's based on either. The s70/2 is v12 but also Dohc with itb's. I'd say based on both.
  22. Yep, plugged in to the pac-man port using a cable from ebay Lithuania. Took me hours to get DIS working, in the end I obtained a pre-configured image that just worked and passed the API test off the bat.
