Body is in emaculate condition

Yep and it will happily crawl along @ idle in 2nd gear.

The interior colour is probably not to everyones taste but i think it's a fair price considering there's another one up for 33k on tm at the moment. Kiwi new seems to also be more desirable but the truth is the kiwi new cars were no way near as well spec'd as the other markets.

That's e46 M3 money. Or even E39 M5 money with change left over for gas -
The Munich plant is really fascinating. You feel it in your feet when the press machines are stamping the body parts. Next time I go i want to visit the Dingolfing plant.

There was a really detailed thread on here from another member who did the subframe mounting repair and re-enforcements using epoxy. Great work restoring this beautiful car!

I tested it with a 9v batt and it appears to be dead, probably just the elec motor. It's yours if you want it.

Yeah genuine bmw brakes are the best bet imo for this kind of car.
-
With bmwccnz discount it was $1200.00 all up.
-
Front discs, pads and wear sensor all replaced.
-
Probably, but it doesn't look like the water got high enough to reach the inlet tracts for the engine.
-
The comfort seats are really really, well, comfortable. Great for long trips vs the sport seats in the standard M spec e39's.
-
Could have a thing for e39's ?

Had a re-occuring fault code to do with the e-box fan which is a small electric fan that draws in air from the outside and in to the box where the DME lives. With a pretty intense summer this year I though it'd be a good idea to replace it. I tried activating the old one in DIS but I could not hear it running. Did the same one with the new one in place and it hummed away nicely. Nothing broken during the process and all back together now. Next job, front discs, pads and wear sensor.

Why not try a CSL remap on the Engine and SMG ?

Weirdly spec'd Deleted rear A/C but it's a tropical version... http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/vin/decoder/DA60021/EN/

Is the interesting opportunity my M5?

switch to 5w 30

Can vouch for it not being slow.

Using a trans on borrowed time that you intend in swapping out is at least good practice for doing the job! The guibo's in auto cars tend to last longer than manual cars. If it's not cracked at all i'd say leave it.

Changing from 1st to 2nd quickly and correcting the over steer.
