Brent pulling up behind me at the lights at Takanini and having a impromptu trip together till he pulled off before Hamilton. Awesome.

Had to do it and glad I did. Headlights refreshed and the black is now silver. Really lifted the front of the car. And the "Y" is fixed thanks Kyu.
-
Nice. Looking forward to seeing your M3 on Sunday.
-
Not in English and no translation but you wont need it.
-
I agree with you about the blue on the plates and I will fix the "Y'. I'd never noticed it before. Maybe because the clearcoat peeling off the bonnet draws the eye away from the "Y". lol

After a lot of mucking around and trying different amps and radio modules I finally got the stereo working in the 750i. Yayyyyyy Also got the ph to work too. Bonus. So other than get the rim changed over tomorrow I think I've run out of things to do to it. Damn it. No excuses now. I'll have to mow the lawns. Yawn.

I'd say that very reasonably priced for a good unit. GLWS.

Yup, they're Xenon. No Angel eyes yet but they're on the to do list. As is this now..lol Another interesting thing happened this morning when I started it up and began backing out the driveway. There where 2 new alarms going off randomly. To be honest it freaked me out a bit and my first reaction was to check the dash for errors. ha ha. Turns out I did something right when I put the front of the car back together. The PDC is now working. Working so well I've just had to cut the long grass that had gone to seed up the top of the driveway cause it was setting the front and rear PDC alarms off at the same time.. lmao

Oh so pretty. Painting the last wheel now. I was going to paint the r/rear window trim piano black but I'm thinking I'm going to run out of time before the weekend so I'll just have to live with it..lol Wash, polish and groom the interior and I'm ready to go.

Got bored and decided to experiment with the grills. I had a couple from the spare parts car with good chrome outer rings and thought I'd try some chrome paint on the inner black grills. Looks quite striking even if I do say so myself..lol One more to go but you get the idea. Will finish it tomorrow.

Thanks. It was satisfying to get rid of that pitted chrome. Yup. Was a big job but glad to have it done. The washer nozzles are bolted through the bumper and chrome and the only way to undo them is take the bumper off..lol And because this arrived in the mail today and I'm well and truly over driving without drivers side mirror I replaced this. Another time consuming but satisfying job done. Not only was the mirror gone all the mounts where broken so I had to replace the entire mirror housing and wiring loom. And the new one all cleaned up.

Why is it when you tackle a job like this outside it decides it's going to rain. A whole lot more work than the rear to give it a bit more fresh chrome but the fronts looking a bit better now. Old chrome sitting over the new for comparison. Looking much better. Still need new grills but that'll have to wait till after it's been re-painted.

I know I'm being a bit OCD about this but having had and toured around on a old R 100 CS as well as owning a BMW with 4 wheels I feel the need to point out the distinction. Back in the day when BMW and BSA where racing against each other they where affectionately known as Beamers and Beezers. They have 2 wheels..lol Bimmer is a car. Beamer a bike.

Way cooler than the merc Brent. Gorgeous color. Whats not to like. Nice find. And always a bonus when you make it home without any unforeseen stops on the side of the road. Well done.

I dont get people on TM who aren't willing to post or courier at the buyers expense. Way to limit your market.

Heres some of his other work. Vavona anyone?

Having driven them all(except the 730i) the 740i is still my favorite. Luv the torque of the 750i but that big donk in the front gives it a different feel to the sportier 740i. I feel a lot more confident throwing the 740i around the corners than I do in the 750i.
-
Funny how things work out. I really didn't like it in the 750i. But if you check my 740i thread you'll see that I put it in there. And I love it. I think it matches the black interior of the 740i where as with the blue in the 750i it looked like a big black hole in the middle of the console. The guy who gave me the wood pieces I've just installed is looking at doing a wood bezel for the 16:9. When he does I may look at it again. lol
-
He's very talented and can color match the pieces to individual cars wood. I was incredibly lucky that this set had been made in red burl walnut so it's a perfect match for the rest of the wood in the 750i. And the finish really does look OEM.

A very nice fellow(Xboss) in the US who has been watching my thread on Bimmerforums sent me these a while ago. They where prototypes and had no clips on the back and no holes in the homelink panel. He gave them to me to see if I could do something with them. So I spent the day very very carefully attaching some metal clips I made and cutting holes in the homelink panel for the mic and sunroof switch. Have to say the result was stunning. Heres the old panel for comparison. lol And heres the panel I was sent sitting in place. And there's usually a leather covered panel under the center console armrest. Here's the one he gave me. His workmanship is incredible. He's now doing piano black finishes with chromeline edging as well as the wood finished panels which now come with clips already attached. Heres a link to his thread if anyone's interested. http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2085016-Wood-home-link-panel-prototype-is-finally-done

Yup, 235 18's though they look a bit narrow compared to the 275's on the back of the 740..lol
-
I've always like the E34. If anything was ever going to tempt me out of one of my e38's it would be one of these. And yours is mighty tempting.
-
The front looks about the same as yours which would be stock but I've played with the self leveling rear and raised it a bit. I'm going to drop it back down a as it's sitting to high atm.
