    Quick rant thread.

Pretty sure it was at the top of the list when I opened the sub forum. Still though..lol Rookie error.
  2. I'm over half way to the "7". lol. I should be getting worried. This could become a bad habit..
  3. Scored this one today. 01 728i that was stolen and recovered. Dont get too excited. the other side does't look so nice. It's the same color as the 750 so I should be able to swap some panels. Style 32's will be going on it too. Also has a M sport wheel and 16:9 display which will do the move to the 750 as well. The 740i's going to be the work horse again when I trailer it home from Wellington sometime this week.

Brain farts that make you look silly. Like replying to a nine year old thread. Dooh
  5. When I saw the 740 in Navarra Violet I had to have it. Luv the way it changes hues in the sun. The 750 I didn't have a choice. It was buy that one then and there or nothing. So I have a Titanium Silver 750i which isn't my favorite color but on the bright side, I have a 750i
  6. This could be interesting. Just under 100,000k on the clock. https://www.turners.co.nz/Cars/Search/BMW/850i/14382880
  7. That looks very nice. Welcome to the forum.
  8. Having trouble deciding which E38 to drive today.
  9. Yup. I'm the same as all the rest. If things go as planned on Monday I'll own yet another E38 so as much as I like this and wish I could give it a home in my garage I'll have to pass but I cant see it sitting around for long.
  10. I think the sellers probably right with the wheel speed sensors needing to be replaced. Or it could also be that it's had a wheel alignment recently and needs the steering angle sensor reset. The trans fail light would go with the speed sensors as well. A failing battery can also cause this. The tail lights and low coolant are easy fixes. My biggest concern would be fixing the wheel speed sensors and replacing the battery only to find you still get the trans fail warning. That would suck.

Crikey. I really am behind the times with my 5.1..
  12. Wait for the price to drop. There are some nice 7's on TM at the moment and the seller will eventually have to lower his price accordingly.
  13. Theres no difference between pre and facelift other than PDC or not. Try Brent at BM World or he may chime in here.
  14. If they weren't smashed in the nose to tail they're probably pushed back into the body so they're not flapping in the breeze.
  15. According to the build list for this car it did come with PDC. BMWVIN_DB09407.pdf
  16. Looking closer I can see that I was wrong. The owner obviously does have a camera cause these are photos of photos. I'm not dissing the car or the price. Just seems odd to me that there are no current/recent pics of the car.
  17. Nice. I like it. Welcome to the forum.
  18. Used as a wedding car. Those pics look like they were taken in the 70's. Spent a 100k on it but cant afford a digital camera. ????
  19. One of the first cars I customised was a 59 Morris Minor van. My father and I spent hundreds of hours restoring the body and upgrading the suspension to Vauxhall disks and independant jag rear. Then a 3lt V6 and 5 speed gearbox went in. Custom paint and interior. Loved that car. Similar thing happened and I had a fire in the engine bay which totaled the car. Undaunted(well maybe a bit) I wanted to save my beloved van but it was cost prohibitive. To cut a long story short I took a second job and saved and scrimped on everything for a year so I could afford to bring my van back. This is what your friend should be doing. Not relying on the goodwill of others to fund his repairs. Yeah, I feel for his loss but if he works for it himself he'll appreciate it more in the long run.
  20. If his price was closer to 2.5-3k it might be worth buying and fixing. Sports aren't that common in NZ and I believe that only the euro spec cars came in a short sport. The Americans never got these. All their sports are long wheel base il's.(I think) I'll have to look that one up tonight. Working the night shift is good for something at least. Watching tv and reading about bimmers online... Nice color and the wood package is rare too. Shame about his exorbitant price.
  21. It looks like it's been a well cared for car. Turners wont do anything to a vehicle brought into them. How they receive it is how they sell it. Dirt and all. This one is immaculate.
  22. Not a project I'd want to tackle. That asking price is delusional with those issues.
  23. If you dont mind me asking. What are the "electrical niggles"?
  24. Was called shadowline and was a feature on the sports. I dont mind it so much on the Imola red. But generally I'm not a fan either.
