Changing the sway bar bushes is easy enough but unlikely to do a lot. I put new shocks in mine (Bilsteins - approx $1600 from www.speedfactor.co.nz ), and all the bushings are in good condition (although my strut tops front and rear are a little tired) and my otherwise standard M3 handles very, very well.

Is there any particular reason you need 400-500hp? Its quite a lot.
-
My keenness is confirmed, basically only subject to making sure they actually fit on the '02.
-
Just one of the many things I ROFL'ed at. Oh that bits true. You know it. Mine's 4 door, like a touring car.
-
Mergers and acquisitions. Keeping lawyers, bankers and accountants busy.
-
Just to reiterate my earlier point with boring stats - a quick look at www.stats.govt.nz at the Household Labour Force survey suggests that 15-19 year olds have 23% unemployment (its 11% for 20-24yo and between 3 and 6% for the other age ranges).
-
If only it was that easy.

It's not the greatest economy for a year 12 leaver to find a job. Do year 13, and figure out what you wanna do.
-
This is not particularly helpful (as it raises more questions than answers), but ... ... I had one of those and two key cards. With one card, it always played incredibly quietly.
-
I think they'll fit the M3, so I can do better than $5 - how about $10.
-
Lookin' good. If they're going to fit the 2002 I'm potentially keen on two sets (or 6x)
-
Ireland Engineering does them - www.bmw2002.com Others do too.

You'll need to save some pennies for brakes too if you go SR20 and you're at the track (or worse - tarmac rally).
-
FWIW I bought Bilsteins for the M3 from Speedfactor (DTM Autohaus - quattro.guy on Trademe) in Tauranga. Good price and very happy with the customer service too.
-
Price looks like it might be stink though. Also 25p is too weak for my 2002 and they wouldn't clear the brakes. * And it doesn't go.

If you go to the forum sponsor Gavin @ EuroItalian I think you'll find he is onto it and has a lot of common stuff from OEM suppliers.
-
I lol'd Given how farked the rim is, you'll never know if he had a tyre pressure problem prior to the accident (ie, if he had a flatty, it may have contributed to never-before-seen oversteer).
-
It happens when circumstances exceed talent - I'm guessing he slid sideways into the curb at speed, because he's not Brian O'Conner.
-
I noticed the "no helmets" too. I'm not sure I approve, but I guess that's not really relevant.
-
Looks like you're getting there... at least you'll know how the car's wired when you're done!
-
Make sure you measure how tall it is. Beyond that, go for it, as I also think this is a good idea (and have also done so for some time).
-
Have you found the answer - my car does it too (only in hot weather, LOL).
-
Mint - thanks I feel better now.

Is that definitely the case? I am sure I have seen a different recommendation last I looked into it. Does the latest TIS definitely say 10W40 (I'd feel better if it did). Either way, what's in there now is what Guido @ BMWorkshop put in (10 or 15W40) and it seems good and I'm sure he knows what he's doing. (edit) Have also started replacing it at 5k intervals as I noticed the vanos was quieter and operated better when the oil was fresher. I could be imagining it (spending money helps my imagination), but I figure it won't hurt.

Whatever's cheapest. Just kidding. Have used a few options, as BMW have changed what they believe is best for an S50 and every BMW mechanic you talk to has a different view. Current BMW recommendation is a special Castrol RS 10W60. It seems to run better and the Vanos is quieter with a 15W50 or 15W40 (I think the latter was the original BMW recommendation).
