  1. On an unrelated note - what an awesome garage.

    Av Gas

And to round it out... avgas is leaded and bad for o2 sensors. Makes exhaust pipe an awesome grey though.
  3. I agree - its amazing how much what one might consider a "normal family home" goes for in areas that a few years ago were considered ordinary. (and, of course above and below that price range are equally $$$ for what they are) Speaking only as a parent to a 3yo and 1yo, manual labour and playing with Thomas the Tank Engine.
  4. The wife's Skoda whistles pretty loudly but you can't really hear it with the windows up. If the turbo was down the back I'd say you wouldn't hear it at all.
  5. And running low boost, so the gate is open when the car isn't moving fast...
  6. The rather long inlet tract is what gets me...
  7. Awesome. How long 'till you strap the turbo on (work permitting, etc etc)?

Am pretty sure he means tune the car on 0.5 bar first, then when its running perfectly on that worry about (1) higher boost; and (2) using the ebc. Since those manual boost t's are so cheap you could just about tune it for higher boost with one of those - its one less thing to worry about at a time. (note - don't really know what I am talking about, but this is my plan when I get there)

Depends on your fuel pressure and how efficient the engine is at peak hp, but online calcs say about 450-500hp
  10. I totally agree - Miura is an all time favourite for me. Does that Gordini feature a fuel tank mounted over the engine, right where an accident would push it onto the hot bits?Ah the carefree 60's.
  11. I had the '96 - it had a nasty 4-spoker. Swapped to the bigger 3 spoke (not that one).
  12. Odd to see that steering wheel on an Evo.
  13. Really? My experience was generally its 1.5x (or more) the US price, plus GST (close enough to double). Mostly based on E36 M3/2002tii parts (so not so common).
  14. US$75 - will be heaps more from NZ dealer, surely. Plus same at the back and US$100 each side.
  15. I see in the TM auction you've asked the wheel sizes - that's a big fella: I'd assume its for 400-700hp applications... although I am sure someone knowledgeable will chime in. What are you wanting it for?
  16. Yeah that's what I meant - its possible he has a big (and $$$) T3/T4 but more likely those middle sized chinese ones.
  17. I guess you can as they're sort of separate (you don't always need a cert when you might need an authority card, and the cert can't cover the handbrake (I don't think)).
  18. Its ok for a car used on the road which has a motorsport authority card: http://www.motorsport.org.nz/content/lvv-m...authority-cards

It looked its best with the Style 5s (I think that's what it had - I can't find a pic). And to think I was temporarily banned for saying I thought this car was worth $60-70k, no $100k, the first time around.* I must think its a bargain now * May actually have been banned for being belligerant (sp?) about it.
  20. Surely a T3/T4, at least most of the ones you see, is too small (exhaust and compressor) for that sort of power, especially at 20psi and without detonation. 500hp at 20psi would need a freeflowing exhaust, big turbo (both sides of it) and good tuning.
  21. I didn't notice anything from fitting the x-brace when I did on mine, but maybe I am poorly calibrated. Having said that for less than $100 (2nd hand) it hardly breaks the bank, and given they put them on the models with a flexible chassis it may well be doing something...
  22. How about 350hp at each wheel - that's a worthy target.
  23. Didn't the 2nd pickup on the evo engine (s50b32) fix the oil problem?
  24. Actually for me the rattle was quieter with slightly thinner oil. It also ran cooler. However, I would stick that stuff in if going to the track. Handbook says 10W40 from memory.
