Have a staggered set on my race car. No covers though. Think Milan got them for bugger all. Staggered sets are worth quite a bit in the US too. I am trying to locate another staggered set but they are not easy to find. Most are just 17X8 all round which are worth much less. The 16" reps in that first link are worth stuff all. Not even sure what the other wheels are in the 2nd link. Not BMW though.

I saw a thing like this for the 5 series and Lindsay Lohan. E28 and E34 she looked great. E39 onwards she looked like a horrid troll. Dead on imo.

It looks like he is trying to make his money back for all the items. But could be fun with some of the hard stuff already done. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/specialist-cars/competition-cars/auction-671261525.htm Though he does want $3700 for the gearbox. Something you can get from ebay to your door in NZ for less than 2K.

New owners of the cars purchased in NZ are being told apparently. I think it was 6:47 or 6:48 on the rubber the car comes with. And 6:3?? on race tyres (prob semis). The amount of down force this car produces is insane. So awesome.
-
Yup just don't get attached to it. You should get near that for parts if it ever did go bang. Good score.

$2700. Nice buy. That's the exact amount of my last bill for my old 540 E39. Was just looking at an old invoice yesterday thinking I am so glad I got rid of it. My one was a money pit.

Ah yes someone had posted this. Good. Was wondering why the hell nobody had posted in. Made me think the forum might be full of hard parkers or something lame.

Most should have already seen this. But just in case you are not a real petrol head or just don't read the "Other Cars" section of the forum. http://youtu.be/E9IWiTpWeiM

Moved to vid section.

So much bad on one car.

Yeah would much rather an E34 over an E39. My E39 540 was a money pit. And not the enjoyable kind of money pit like a race car. Will get my hands on a hand built M5 E34 at some stage. But where as someone would throw money at the No.1. I will look for a 3.8 in mint condition. Not the best I have seen on there recently. But is what I would be after. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-M5-3-8-346BHP-1992-Left-Hand-Drive-LHD-/291001975252?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item43c111c1d4

Good point! Could be lies!

Don't bother with the North Shore unless you will be working this side. Issue is The Bridge. One massive bottle neck every morning without fail. Though the Shore has been my favourite area by far for living. East Auckland a distant 2nd.
-
Not really. If it is number 1 I still don't feel it is worth 300% what a better 3.8 version would cost. Maybe if it was all original. Should add that Bimmerforums seems to suggest the motor is well used if you know what I mean.
-
Asking way too much though. You could pick one up out of Germany for less than half that. Seen 3.8 M5 Sedans at around 10K GBP over the last few months.
-
Check this out. Claiming that this was the very first M5 wagon. Sounds legit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121227998414 Do want.

Love the interview with Jim while he is driving at 14mins. Even a Hi to NZ.

That sort of money will get you what you are after. And you won't have to live on the fringes of Auckland. E.g. Our current house is in that range. 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms, massive outside decking, Double garage with boat storage. (we have 6 cars). Two of the large bedrooms have en suites. And a great view of the Gulf. House is around 18 years old. Will take some effort but you will be happy. I have no intention of settling here for good either. But this is where the jobs are. And there is so much to do and see. 2 hours and you are in the Corromandel. 1 hour and you are at Puke or Hampton Race track. BMW Race series is a good past time by the way

Beachlands is a bit overrun by south aucklanders going to the beach for a wash/swim on the weekends. Though with the expansion of Howick/Botany it is growing super fast and the housing quality is quite good. Traffic has to funnel down one road to get in and out however. I am out there every other Thursday for Poker games and more often than it should I get detoured for crashes or roadworks. Is a good hour to town/newmarket during normal working hours. If you can set your own hours go for being at work by 7 or 7:30am and leave at 4 or 4:30. Leaving at 5 will add 30 mins to your drive. I would have thought BP would set themselves up in Albany. It is where everyone else is going. I live in Torbay and work in Albany. Takes me 6 mins to get to work.

Yeah said it in the other M5 post. This one looks like its been well used. Paint shows every imperfection. Black M5's never grab my attention as much for some reason. Unsure why.

You poor bugger. Newmarket and its surrounding areas would have to be the most congested places in New Zealand imo. I used to work in Newmarket and travel from Howick (East Auckland). Would take me anywhere between 30mins and 1hr 30mins. TBH when friends have moved to Auckland in the past nearly all the places so far suggested I have said to avoid. If you rented your current home would it cover the mortgage? I would just rent up here.
-
See now that looks well used. Those photos show every paint imperfection. Sunset is a horrible time for photos.

Bronson. Can you please stop digging up old threads. Send a message direct to the person if the last post is older than 2 months. These are from April.

Then it is a steal. Most others I have seen have been pretty well used compared to this one.

I have the exact same car but with BBS RS003 wheels and a stock rebuilt motor insured through the AA. Agreed value of $8000. Costs me $400 per year for full cover. My cars only worth around 8 at a max if it was mint. Which it is not (stuffed paint). Any higher than 8K and they wanted me to get the car valued. What was the full respray worth BTW?
