Do it sometimes. But usually at the lights. My sister is real bad and does it non stop everywhere she is driving. But txtn is far cheaper than calling for most people. My calls cost me 80c per min. Thats a joke!

London Eye, Camden Markets, and of course all along Oxford street your Mrs will love. But your pocket wont. Tower Bridge is right next to the tower of London. Lots of crap to see around that area. If your going to Paris why not just go a little further and visit Nice and Monaco. You can drive around the famous race track. And being summer there should be craploads of hot chicks and supercars driving around. Just catch a train from Paris. And dont forget to go to Scotland. Its awesome up there. I did a Haggis Tour which was 6 days. Great fun and lots and lots to see. Have a swim in Loch Ness. I did and went blue. Oh and the RAF Museum is in North London. Is pretty cool too.

Someone could get them a nice cheap 540. Should get the owners details.
-
Was just out for a drive and drove past this 540i. Thought somethings wrong here. Why was it so dull. Spun around and pulled up to have a closer look. It looks like it has been sitting here for years! Its under a tree and is just coated in tree sap and bird sh*t. As you can see from the pictures the paint is totally rooted. I couldn't get a pic of the front but it was in even worse condition as it was further under the tree. I couldn't even see in the windows they were so caked in tree sap. Just dont understand how someone would let a car like this get so bad! The owners lived down a long driveway and this car was parked at the top. The sap is alot worse than what the pics show.

Yeah I might have a play with it. Will jack it up and see how much it is touching and where. Not too worried about it though. Full counter drifting is usually slow drifting. And the E30 needs to really be moving to get some good slides going.

Hey Togate where did you buy the wheels from? Ebay? I have found the front wheels rub a bit with full lock. The rear doesn't rub when driving around town. But putting her through the twisties it rubs a little bit every now and then on big bumps. I am just going to have the rear gaurds rolled. As they have a huge lip on the e30's. Will do the front at the same time. But I think the rubbing at the front on full lock is the rubber touching the body.

I would use min of 95 octain. No doubt it has been running on quite high octain jap gas.

Haha yeah they are amazing. Saw another one last night. Download the Episode 10 of Season 10 of Top Gear. It has a great review of the M3.
-
You will have majors at the back. I have 15X8 +0 Sportmax rims with 205/50/15's. The back rubs hard. Even with fully rolled gaurds you will have problems with -4's. The 205's are slightly stretched too. This car has -2deg camber on the rear and -3deg at the front. If I try and correct it without rolling the gaurds they will just rub like mad. Here is my car with the rims. The last owner Togate got them over from the states.
-
Well the E30 was all put together by Togate. The last member to own the car. I will keep going on it though.

Glenn's been a real help to me and my brother.

The E30 handles ok. Few little things I would like to improve. A little less camber on the front. Will sort out the rear camber a little too. Might pick up some coilovers for it, but at the moment the suspention rides really nice and the car is meant to be my daily driver. Next step is to give it a full service so I know where I am at. And then replace all the bushes. A few came with the car though. Rest I will get through the E30 series or my mate at Autolign. Will get him to Dyno my shocks too. See if he can make some improvements.

Yeah I know NZ is a nice place to Ride your bikes. What I mean by you must be crazy this time of the year to ride one, is that there is still alot of stress and rushing around by people driving cars. As I said. Why would you want to put your life in the hands of the crazy drivers in NZ at this time of the year. What does piss me off is the cyclists who are riding cross country. The ones who get the stupid idea to ride on State Highway 1 and 2 during xmas/new year. They are not only endangering themself but drivers too. Drivers will do retarded crap to get past a cyclist.
-
Wankers that they did not stop. But at this time of the year you would have to be crazy to ride a bike on any road. Maybe someone dobbed them in. I see so many people do stupid things to get infront of the "slower" cyclist. I dont think I could ever put my life in the hands of NZ motorists just to get fit on a bike.
-
Haha yeah I am a sucker for the fairlady/240 lines. I like my classic shapes of the 70's and 80's. Must be about -3deg on the front. Haha. Might tone it down a little. The E30 Racer should be going by the end of the month I hope. Will miss the first race this year but hope to make the second. Cheers for the comments.

Top Gear review of the M3, CLK63 AMG and the RS4

I did like Clarksons reason for calling them tossers though. Thought it was a bit of a laugh. I agree with Simon though. I really love it how they dont censor him and try to make him PC. The show is by far the most entertaining car show because of the personalities on it. Its one of about 4 shows currently on TV that I bother to watch (although I download them as NZ TV is over a season behind) Amazing how the stig could hit that apple at that speed though. And the Merc couldn't come close. It must have been busy planning how to kill them. -
Well I just purchased a 1985 325i from a mate yesterday. The one that is in the for sale section. Its the first E30 I have actually driven as my race series car is still in the build. And man I love it! Its so much fun to drive! I am so glad that I made the purchase. My mates thought it was a bit strange considering I have a 220rwkw 180SX and purchased this E30 to replace it. But I want to save some money. And didn't want to end up driving some crap mid 90's Sentra or Corolla. Have a few little plans for it. It is already a very tidy example and has been in Bimmersport for a while now I think. I will just be making it even more tidy. Been hanging around on the forums for a while now. Been alot of help for building me Race Series E30. I also help run the Nissan Silvia club for NZ. www.nissansilvia.co.nz Wave out if you see me. Oh and the name is Dan and I am out in Bucklands Beach/Howick in Auckland Will just cut and paste info from for sale area. 1985 325i E30 engine: m20b25 - 293000ks, still runs beautifully, have quite a bit of service history to go with the car simota air filter 2,1/4 exhaust LSD (not sure on ratio) 5spd suspension: BNG eurospec 60mm spring kit KMAC front pillowball race camber plates monroe gas shocks wheels/tires: 15x8 0 offset sportmax wheels new 205/50r15 tires interior: m325i dash (no cracks) m325i front/rear seats Mtech steering wheel very tidy all round exterior: paint is immaculate no rust and no dents, excellent condition considering age And this is the car I am building into a race series car. It has since been stripped and now is just a shell with a cage. Interior was recently painted white. Motor has been built and just needs to be dropped in. Then its just a matter of swapping things like the diff, brakes and suspention for the series stuff that is cluttering up my room. No updated photos as yet though. Wish I had kept the kit for the new one. And this is my other car. 96 180SX Type X. Recently popped the motor at puke due to a faulty ECU running her lean all of a sudden. Not cool. Gets Dynoed next week. Expect at least 220rwkw on the dynopack at ST Hitech.

Also cheers, sending email right now. Dan.

Top Gear review of the M3, CLK63 AMG and the RS4
Driftit replied to Driftit's topic in General Discussion
Amazing how the stig can control the M3 so well. So precise. Merc has always done that with their badging. Not sure why. I would love to drive all three. Of course I would like to have all 3. They are all in the same class but all have a different purpose. -
Has anybody had a watch of this episode. Its the last of the 10th Season (Not out in NZ yet). Season 10 Episode 10. Its quite a good laugh. They are testing the three cars on a private track. Give them a good working over. The BMW is the fastest around the track by quite a bit. The Stig seems to love the control of the car. The Merc wants to commit Murder/Suicides on every corner. But is the fastest in a straight line by quite a bit and is just awesome sounding. Oh I forgot to add that Jeremy thinks M3 drivers are all tossers. He explains why though. Quite funny.

Did you get given the newer model or the old one? Mates Dad has a really smart looking 2007 John Cooper Works one. Only full Cooper Works in NZ at the moment. Nearly all the optional extras, Wheels, carbon spoilers and air scoop were all over $2000 each. Hauls Ass.

I thought the big 4wd was called a ML55 AMG.

Shame about the recent trouble, but you just inspired me to finish my E30. Always good to see examples like this.
