  1. Lol, ok, I found a Rolls Royce spare parts dealer, which of course has BMW parts and ordered a hodge podge of new parts. I also ordered a used Clutch pedal and spring on eBay UK.. and signed up for a YouShop account to get a UK address. Lets hope this works out.. EDIT: Lol, of course, email from the seller, they cannot get part 35211152013 any more.. which is the stupidly specific RHD + Manual e28 brake pedal.
  2. This is still proving to be the biggest problem with the conversion. Everything else worked out, what a stupid part to be stuck on. We did call BMW, half the parts are gone, NLA and the remaining stuff is absurdly expensive (ie about a grand, for a not complete setup). Can't find anyone in NZ with the parts either.
  3. There are about 7 of them in the $15-$21 asking price range, thats the normal price for this era F01..?
  4. Forgot to update, dropped the price in line with general E70 X5 prices, asking $30k Ono.
  5. Hi Karun! Let me know asap, Auto38 piling the pressure on me to make room in their workshop!!
  6. No shipping unless you arrange, need these parts cleared out of my mechanics workshop, so Wellington city collection highly preferred ASAP. From 1983 E28 525i BMW M30B25 (yes, 2.5litre big six, which is a bit unusual). Has new injectors, disti, wiring, throttle body etc. Quite rattley as the cam is a bit worn, comes with everything pictured. $100 as I'm just looking for it gone. 3 Speed Auto box for M30 - from the engine above, now separated. The only thing interesting about this is it doesnt required any computer control, so maybe useful for someones project? Shifts smoothly - Free (or it goes to dump!) Other bits we dont need in my engine conversion any longer: Dual Mass Flywheel, think its from M54 or M52 (ie fits 6pot M5x engines). $50 - think thats all I paid for it, used from someone here. E36 (I think, see photos) Fenx Aluminium Radiator. $100 (think I paid $200, unused)
  7. No worries! If anyone else wants to make an offer, let me know. Car is good to go, just put in new Xenon bulbs.
  8. You are an invaluable resource to the BMW classic community Brent! That master cylinder is super spendy though!? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-BMW-E24-E28-Coupe-Sedan-Clutch-Input-Master-Cylinder-OEM-21521156002-/191908314566 Lots of conflicting info on those links though ... eg: The main body "supporting bracket for foot controls" is apparently the same part as in my Automatic car and also works on both LHD and RHD: http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/35111151375 Both the Clutch Pedal and Brake Pedal are is listed as both LHD and RHD compatible on BMW-Fans? http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/35311152018 http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/35211152013 Everything I googled on that RHD manual set seems to be applicable to LHD and about half of it is for Automatics too. What parts "make it" RHD or LHD then??
  9. Whats build date for the cut off on the pedal differences? I googled but can find anything on this. Mine is March 1983. On the Early vs Late Clutch Master Cylinder, I presume there are mounts or something different.. as in either case one has to be added. Google suggests pre-85 are all early cars. I had already bought this one, which is sold (by a specialist) as fitting all E28's: https://e28goodies.com/product/brand-new-master-clutch-cylinder-lpr/
  10. Like a newb I assumed the lhd and rhd pedals are the same and ordered online.. Apparently not. Anyone got a rhd pedal assembly setup from a manual e28?
  11. Thanks, I'll call that plan b. I'm not really setup equipment or time wise to crawl around a car in a wreckers.. But good to know.
  12. Any interest or offers on the X5M?
  13. M54B30 engine is in the E28 engine bay, but unfortunately the M52 "kinda-tubular" manifolds are too short according to the mechanic. He reckons (aside from paying an exhaust place to fabricate something) the E38 728i (RHD obviously) manifolds would fit or at least give some options. Anyone breaking a 728i?
  14. It claims 17L/100km consumption right now on the dash, but I've seen it higher. This is almost completely low speeds + brisk acceleration around Wellington, so it couldnt get worse as a fuel economy torture test. Driving out of the city, its much lower, maybe like 11L/100KM or something combined. Fun Fact, as an M Car it doesnt even have a Fuel Economy Guage, it has the race like Oil Temp Guage. Its also got a "Track Driving" section in the user manual complete with semi-secret Chequered Flag on dash for actual built in Launch Control! Ive actually never used it, maybe I should test before I sell. Its a super fun car.
  15. Do indeed! It's split duties as our daily, with the e28 (well, that's off getting an engine swap so this it for now)!
  16. Half toying with trading it in, but the trade in offer I got from the place that had the car I wanted was terrible. Two other dealers actually offered competitive valuations but they don't have what I wanted any longer. This is a NZ new, full spec 550hp "M" car.. Similar engine to the M5 and M6. 2010 model, about 147k on the clock. This vehicle is in excellent condition with loads of important service items recently undertaken. Way back when from new it was specced up and given to Brendan McCullum. Personalised plate (X5 ///M) is provided. Lots of features : Panoramic sunroof Selectable M mode (in addition to Sport mode), giving more power/response, stiffer suspension, stiff steering, opens up the quad tip exhausts etc Heads up display Reversing camera and parking assist Keyless entry Push button start Built in hard drive for the stereo as well as Bluetooth for phone Latest BMW NZ 2020 Sat Nav maps Heated, memory seats. Fully adjustable, they 'hug' you while driving. Auto lights (inc. auto dip) and wipers Rubber bootliner As well as all the normal stuff you would expect like tow bar (removable, with key), black leather interior, air conditioning, cruise control, etc Engine has had the problem parts replaced with revised genuine BMW parts to ensure the same failure does not reoccur prematurely. Full overhaul including: Timing chain and tensioners Oil pump chain Valve stem seals 4 cam sensors 4 VANOS solenoids Water pump Thermostat Associated gaskets and seals Spark plugs Auxiliary water pump and reservoir I've also put 4 new Nexan Performance tires on it, and full alignment; the only really expensive regular service item checked off for the new owner for quote a while! Full Build sheet attached. Wants for nothing, get in and drive. Offers around $30k? BMW E70 X5 M 2010 Silverstone 2 metallic (A29) Leather _Merino__schwarz (LKSW) - WBSGY02060LH67396.pdf
  17. Have you got similar ratio in 188 to fit an e28 undergoing m54 transplant?
  18. Sometimes I can't wait to move back to Ireland! https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/bmw-330i-msport-automatic-new-nct/24943883
  19. 1 year old, swapped as the springs I used were slightly too short so failed latest WOF "spring captivity" checks. Passed twice before mind you.. B6, so not the hardest type (firmer than stock, similar to the 535i MSport afaik), working really well. Look near new. Can supply new bump stops and have the plastic piston covers too. EDIT: Now sold (was $150 + postage from Wellington (or pickup))
