  1. Thanks for the links Brent (and your message reply!). Ive been looking at them too, all bar one are cash on collection and Im sick of dealing with people in the UK and their stubbornness on shipping outside the UK. This one might be interesting if shipping wasnt too OTT: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E34-V8-M60B40-Manual-5-speed-gearbox-transmission-1053401/303334185123?hash=item46a02058a3:g:rf8AAOSw-w9dsdPE The other curve ball is.. just stick a 5speed auto from an M62 in it and dont go Megasquirt, use Fekzen in Sweden to mod the stock ECU into standalone mode. There was a time manuals were cheaper, but with the 10x premium on manual parts now, Im questioning this approach. The idea was to get V8 power into the E28, but the budget is looking like 70% of the cost being on the manual conversion. That just doesnt make sense vs what the point was. I can buy an entire E32 and get a ton of other parts from it for less than just the adapter or bare gearbox. Will a 5HP transmission physically fit into an E28?
  2. yeah saw that, his prices are above what I can just import similar new parts for. Way above. His parts might be hard core (likely are, given race spec) but thats not really even a benefit for a daily driver. $7000 to $8000 for just the transmission parts is not money well spent!
  3. Either something like the 5 or 6 speed from the E34 540i or something like the newer diesel gearboxes that need the (PMC) adapter plates. I already have an M62, just need to source a manual box (and pedals etc) for a swap into the E28.
  4. Any offers for these at all? Bare wheels, ready to go.
  5. That actually pretty cool, did you change the Master Cylinder for the brakes too? I have to stick to what fits under 16" E32 wheels though!
  6. Thanks for the offer, but sadly E39 and E38 brake parts wont fit an E28!
  7. The calipers are harder to find, but PM me a discs price anyhow!
  8. Looking for good condition calipers, rotors etc from the newer bigger BMW's for my e28. Can buy online/abroad but thought to ask here first.
  9. Updated advert, rock bottom price: https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2336441613&ed=true
  10. Thanks! It needs to be cleaned and new wheels put on, then photos! Now has the whole rear end mounts, bushings done. Next up, big brakes!
  11. Any interest here? Got my new ones and need these sold!
  12. Now on Trade Me, $200 buy now. $125 min bid, $150 reserve. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/wheels-tyres/alloy-wheels/listing-2264259453.htm?rsqid=2302e6d5a2a944e0b8f8ca3c5bd83e22-001
  13. I got a diff set on the way from Germany for my E28, these are currently on the car. Any interest, need to sell? I paid $300 for them, best offer over $150 gets them. Bare alloys, no tyres as I'll reuse mine. They are an interesting wheel in that they look quite retro, but are actually from an E39. They have a wide stanced offset (7" wide with 20mm offset) which can look really cool. Because of this they fit on both old and newer BMWs. I should be able to supply the spigot rings for non-E39's too. 14. Tons more done, driving and riding real well now! Just put in Bilstein HDs plus Eibachs, M5 suspension arms, tie rod ends and drag link. So so much better!
  15. Suppose thats fair, its the type of car that gets broad appeal, from genuine enthusiasts to the boy racer blow ins. I think its pretty sharp tho.
  16. Pretty nice looking IMO, though he might be a tad optimistic on the final price: "Proof of funds for at least $10k to be provided before test driving. "
  17. You are late to the party, by nearly a decade, but cool pics. I'd rock a purple (Daytona Voilet IRC?) M5 anyday. The cheapest E34 M5 Ive seen sold was EUR1000, in Ireland about 6years ago. Had a bunch of minor to moderate electrical problems plus the internal blower motor sounded like a cement mixer. Sadly the guy who bought it wasnt really a car guy at all, he just needed a cheap car. Crazy times, Im sure he ran it completely into the ground.
  18. I got the foam on Trade Me, those are the exact names I used from the listing. There are foam and seat outlets around bricks & mortar style too that can sell and cut it for you. Apparently the best DIY cutting method is to use an electric kitchen knife. Would be near than what I used (blades and scissors). I got the wadding in Spotlight! It does feel great tho!
  19. Yep, all good here. Was in Ireland again, then Canada then here again since. I had an i8 in Ireland, and unlike the current 8 series, I consider that a better spiritual successor. Also has the ott impact the E31 had and the polarising looks, launched at a time of oil crisis/transition etc. Unlike the current 8 which is just like a big but normal 6 series. Nice but blandish. Hoping to get an i8 here in the next year too, it was soooo good. There was talk of a meatier CSI/sports version of the i8 coming out too, just like the 850CSi to the 850Ci.
  20. Mine was Fjord Grey, 1993! Sold to a guy in ChCh and sadly the engine siezed on his trip home. That was around 3years ago. I have the car for 7years+ and did a ton of work on it.
  21. I owned one of these, imported and sold it here, no where near that price but mine was burning oil (and had 100k more miles). At least it was well loved! If i was doing an E31 again ideally it would be an 840i Manual. All the performance in the real world, none of the M70/S70 drawbacks (yes I know its a V12).
  22. Bought these for the 5 series I had, never even got to put them on as the car was sold! https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2147893827 Looking for $485 or best offer. Can courier at your expense.
