You can either buy error free led bulbs or you can buy inline resistor packs that cancel tbe obc warnings. Repco and supercheap have them but they arent cheap!!
-
I can see there being some issues around sealing the stationary head and the moving block! The weakest part of most internal combustion engines and they want to make it a bearing surface as well, really interested to see how they solve that.

The butterflies in the bug catcher arent connected, i presume they are just locked half open, seems like a lot of work for nothing, but each to their own!
-
I kept the same diff in mine, at 100 in 6th its doing about 1800 rpm. Economy should be better, but im still enjoying it too much to worry about economy!! There are some coding issues that you will need to get sorted, best to talk to Ray, he's done a few now. Plus, do it!!

I got mine from ebay, pretty cheap, looks good, fits perfectly, lights up. only took a week or so to arrive from Hong Kong.

I suspect that bossplayer68 spent most of his pocket money stocking up yesterday before the law change!! Any chance that bug catcher is actually connected to anything??

Pretty sure its just a small halogen bulb, have you tried repco? I vaguely remember getting one there once.(of course it may be cheaper to get the ebay ones )

E30 Battery to Boot installation - help appreciated
aja540i replied to RipJaws's topic in Electrical system
Just leave all the other earth cables bolted to the strut tower and put a good earth in the boot to the battery, the chassis does the rest! Good luck. -
It goes "vvrrrrroooommmmmm" I just had mine converted, (thanks Ray) and it made a HUGE difference! The cost was on par with getting the auto properly rebuilt as well. I'm thinking i might disect the auto now, just for sh1ts and giggles!

Rust! Its an E21!
-
If you have ews there will be a black plastic ring around the ignition switch, if not it is just a metal switch and a small rubber ring around that. The black plastic ring has the wires in it that send and receive the ews signal from the key.
-
I think you mean " strip the paint off so you can see the rust"

Its been bought and sold about 3 times in the last year or so! I wouldnt go near it and ive bought 4 of them Doesent help when the auction says "320i" and in it he says be has disabled the choke on the carb!!

Looks like it could have been backed into by a truck, there are a few scenarios that would cause that damage without deploying airbags. Or they might be faulty, most of the other systems on a car that old would have been maintained or repaired by now, im guessing the airbags have been left to their own devices!

Yeah, i prefer working on the older stuff! No pics yet, its a bit of a long term project this one, still sorting out body rust, just getting all my ducks lined up for when it goes back together. I only just decided to go M42 instead of M10 !!
-
Cool, i just had a look through the wiring diagrams and it seems i just have to bypass the auto inhibitor switch. Fingers crossed! Im trying to avoid having to get a new DME if i can use the one i have, it came with the ews module and dash cluster etc.

Has black leather interior, double glazing, window blinds, towbar etc, if anyones interested.
-
Get them sandblasted first, then if you want to get really fussy fill all the pitting with metal based filler, then get them powdercoated. If they are the same as M62 they are magnesium so don't dip strip them! Any half decent powder coater should be able to do them, but ring around to find one that has the crinkle powder. Good luck

I am getting an M42 ready to drop into my e21, the motor i got is from an auto car, does anyone know if i can use the ecu from the auto car with a manual box ?
-
You could always dry sump it!
-
I could be wrong, but it might be that you hold one of the buttons for longer to open the boot? Maybe button 2 for 2 seconds or something? My key has the boot button so im just guessing!
-
That will buff out !!

Mine did 161.5 kw atw, totally standard. I wouldn't think 180 would be too much trouble, but there are a few issues - room for decent headers, plastic inlet manifold etc. You would probably get most of the way there with a decent re-tune, superchips say 10% from a re-flash. Let me know how it goes!

Sweet, ill take them. PM me with bank deets etc. Cheers.
