  3. was just thinking about this last night, and without seeing it its hard to say but if its not the tyres it MAY be possible that the spring rates and shock rates just dont match and the spring is oscillating and causing a wallow or the its too hard and causing a bounce.... food for thought...
  4. Has anyone spent any time calculating/testing exhausts on a m20b25? proven results i would preffer, i can create enough "theory" myself. im running a fast street cam and wayneys headers, cheers oli
  5. my bad, missed that part, i only skimmed this topic, but yes remove the pump, much easier, and dont bother with underdrive.
  6. best way to change the power steer pully is to remove the pump and get a rattle gun on it. but as i said its not worth doing at all, have dyno'd before and after (with another brand but essentially the same thing) and there was no change. so my opinion is to put the money into something more worth while.
  7. i have 2 exhuasts, both are single pipe, one is 2.5" one is 2/14, neither are overly loud, i know its not factory but if you get stuck you can have a look at those.
  8. As in title, after a non power steer rack for my e30 and the steering collum joint that sits by the exhaust as i believe they are different with the non p.s racks w.h.y Cheers oli
  9. yeah it does sound like the rings have closed up a little as said by 1st mechanic, you can try spraying brake clean into the intake when running but it probably wont do much (i wouldnt use brasso personally.) i would normally say that if you where to get a car in that condition that you treat it gently to start with and slowly drive it a little harder over a period of a few months, just to try and decarbon the cylinders and try and push the rings out. (if you jump straight into it and flog it after a life of being nanad you will probably kill it. but if you slowly work it out a little more each time it can often bring the motor condition back.) but after 10 years of ownership i would say that the engine is not going to get any better by itself. you could perhaps try running a thicker grade of oil as it may not pass the piston rings so easily. but in all honesty if it hasnt come right by now it probably wont. hotter spark plugs wont help you either.
  10. also make sure you paint the exhaust with heat proof paint before you wrap it, it helps stop it rusting. and i guess it wouldnt hurt to paint after wrapped too...

    if it only happens when the aircon is switched on then its likely that it is either the aircon tensioner as above or perhaps the aircon pump bearings or clutch unit..
  12. mine does exactly the same re change into third, normally a trans specialist will do a system flush (quite different from just dropping the pan and changing the oil.) and replace the trans filter. unless theres an issue they dont usually do more than that. you can drop the pan, change the small amount of oil that comes out and replace the filter but you will only get about half the oil out so theres not much point really..

  15. Hey guys, after the little plastic strip that runs down the doors and guards on a facelift coupe. Have bits for front guards and doors, just need the bits that attach to the rear guards. Full plastic with no chrome... Thanks oli

  19. i run 6kg on mine with no issues so far... wheres the progress at dude? i will be rebuilding my lsd myself over the next few months so if your not in a rush we could use mine as a guinny pig for a diy rebuild... its not a hard job from what ive reaserched.
