how easy/hard is it to re colour leather?
-
tbh it doesnt look all that bad compared to some that ive seen. it wont be all that expensive to fix either because the areas it is in are easy ones to plate. i work with a guy who could probably do it as a perky. he has done alot on his e30 lately so he will do a good job. let me know... and if your still thinking of getting a new seat i would recommend the racetech seats. mine is the base model and is super comfy and only about $550+gst

usually if the starter isnt engaging with the ring gear for whatever reason it would make a horrible grinding sound as it tries to mesh but just rubs against it, put a spanner on the crank and make sure it turns over, sometimes if the torque converter and flexiplate arnt on properly you can jam them which will stop the motor from turning over. Do you know the condition of the starter? Mabey it is not throwing the pinion out. Also check the battery, a flat battery has the symptoms you described. Plug the trans in anyway. It may or maynot cause a problem with the inhibitor switch if it is not plugged in.

its getting there, will look better with the wheels and springs in. didnt see you, i asume you were going the other way?

could be interested if the price is right. The rear end is just about to fall right out of my racecar.

hey guys. i did a search but didnt find anything helpful. 1990 e30 325i. The temp guage likes to jump around from time to time, between 1/2, 3/4 and hot. If you flick it it usually stops. I recall something about batteries in the intruent cluster? or is it more like a bad connection somewhere? cheers oli

Rebuild E30 323i Motor (Tips 4 performance gains)
pureboiracer replied to E30 Newbie's topic in Performance
if it is m52 me and my flatmate have done it. check out www.sexybm.co.nz -
i have toyo r888s on my race car, i have done 5 events on them and they only just started scrubbing in. I have been told you can do around 10k on the roads in them before they wear out, i drive mine to and from track on the road and they stick very nicely. not that i really hoon around in them but you still get the feel of them sticking.

um not too sure where to get custom springs, mabey nz springs? look them up in white pages. IMO i would get some stiffer shocks, ie bilstiens. cheaper than getting custom springs i think. Plus if your springs are too hard and you have soft shocks you will get a lot of spring jounce and rebound. I dont know that for a fact but thats what i imagen would happen.

anyone know who does dash fixing? and ROUGHLY whats its worth to get done? I have 2 little cracks in my e30 dash.
-
yeah you can get any exhaust to fit onto any car, it is just a case of how much you want to spend getting it fitted. the harder to fit the more expensive, but an exhaust shop ie pitstop can do it.

How to cert lower than 100mm?
pureboiracer replied to Shady's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
this may be an option i may need to look at some point in the futer. -
ive got some springs for my e30 that lower it approx 70mm from standard. with my 14s on i estimate the front rails to be approx 70 to 80mm, not sure aboutbwith my 16s though. i will put up a picture when i get my wheels.

Rebuild E30 323i Motor (Tips 4 performance gains)
pureboiracer replied to E30 Newbie's topic in Performance
it cost me about 3k to rebuild my 2.5, that was not inc strip or assemble, I had new rings, bearings, seals, valves, valve springs, balanced and i cant remember what else off the top of my head, so its not really worthwile doing it to your 2.3 esp with your budget. As said above you will be better off with a 2.7 more power and cheaper than rebuilding yours. -
zip plumbing sell it, the same place you got that stuff for your cold air box from, ive got some here, i used it for my airbox
-
um alpine white i believe its called. The paint on the doors and roof etc isnt too bad but if your going to the trouble to build it up a respray wouldnt be that far out of the question.
