I just re-read your title. You mention it happens when braking - check your front brake rotors for warpage and if so change the rotors/pads.

17" type 2's for both sets. I have a genuine staggered set from an e39 8.5front/9.5rear, 74mm hub and replica 8.5 all round, also 74mm hub diameter. -
