Yes... nose panel is the same.
  2. Reminds me of those idiots in Sydney who, after that freak hailstorm which damaged hundreds of cars, tried to claim insurance by smashing their cars with hammers to mimic hail dents! You can't give out any other info Glenn? Did they try to receive repairs to their car fraudulently? It wasn't that guy with limited English that kept posting pictures of overheated engine blocks etc was it?

A beautiful and increasingly rare car... look after it grasshopper!
  4. I don't think that matters, because all you need to replace is the shifter arm. You don't actually need the entire mechanism.
  5. I had a similar problem on my old car. Except instead of fiddling with the headlight to make it work I'd slam the bonnet and it would come back on again! Turned out to be a combination of faulty bulbs/connections and a melted connector at the back of one headlight.

Bahaha! Put them in Black jerseys and fly them to Eden Park... anything's got to be better than Sat night.
  7. I was thinking about doing this mod on my car... but I think the facelift shifter make the gear lever look too tall and gumby. Perhaps if there was a way to have a leather shift boot fitted like on the E38/E38/E46 it would look better. In the meantime I'll stick with the t-bar until I get my manual conversion done. (Which happens in my dreams most evenings)

Have your battery tested. A dying battery will cause all sorts of havoc with your electrics.
  9. No that's me ducking for cover!
  10. Yeah, it's at Iconic... the final of the Lingerie competition is next Thursday 31st from 9pm if you Chch fellas want to come. Should be a good night... we've weeded out all the cows now and just got the prime cuts left!
  11. Warranty wise, a lot of companies specifically exclude high performance sports cars from getting coverage. I know in my warranty book it says that M-Powered BMW's are not covered.
  12. Good luck with your search. You'll love the car once you get it! Oh and get definitely get a mechanical warranty. You'll hopefully never need it... but it's definitely worth having in case your auto tranny needs replacing etc. One $1000 workshop bill and you'll make your money back!
  13. Sweet car man! Have a great trip!
  14. Yeah, M10 and it's been on TM for ages... apparently has quite a bit of rust.
  15. Good point about the sport switch failing... you'll know if it has cos the engine should run about 500rpm higher while cruising than when in economy mode. I'm having trans issues at the moment with mine too! Good luck with it mate!

Well... I know a bonnet is about $250, a front bumper is about $150. So I'd say a bootlid is somewhere in between those two... prob $175 - 200. My advice: Don't necessarily go to the cheapest place you find... you may get a crap job done. This has happened to me. Choose someone who is highly recommended, perhaps by your local BMW dealer. EDIT: Shocking grammar
  17. Get rid of the Jappa rego plate frame... rear end will look way cleaner.
  18. Couldn't agree more. Every time something goes wrong with my car I resolve to sell it immediately and buy something more reliable. Then it's like it almost looks at me like a child scorned and I feel sorry for it and buy it another present! I love the handling, the style... the fact that people think you must be a high-flying rich guy because you drive a BMW (that cost less than their '98 Corolla) and how it even makes going to the supermarket a fun trip!
  19. Yeah that just replaces the bulbs, try that, but it may not fix the problem if you have what's known as "dead pixels". There is a DIY to fix the dead pixels which I have tried and it kind of worked but not totally.... Ray @ HELLBM sells OBC's with working pixels for $50. I'm just gonna buy a new one from him.
  20. Oh you know it... you could try Ray @ HELLBM and see if he has any though.
  21. I have a set of these lights on my car... they are good quality for the price. Not OEM quality, but I'm happy with them. They haven't thrown any errors up on my OBC like some apparently do and were a piece of piss to install. Unbolt the old, bolt up the new.
