I actually went and talked to Evan at Speedfactor about these very coil overs a while ago. He is a very knowledgable guy, and I asked him specifically about the quality and after sale support for the XYZ coil overs. He said he can tailor the spring rates to suit you (from memory), and that they use XYZ coil overs in their SS2000 class Civic with good results. When I pressed him about the quality, he said he was impressed by it. $1300 from Speedfactor.

Absolutely love this thread. Makes me glad I didn't take the plunge and buy a Tech II kit. Still waiting for my IS front lip to arrive from SA. Grr. There was a 2JZ-GE on trademe for $500. I wonder if anyone has had any experience +T-ing them? I imagine it'd be a torque monster

Bump. Viewing will be available in Hamilton soon, after I move back. Hit me up with offers people

I was watching the auction with interest. If you repaired it cheaply, it was a great deal. Good to see it's in the hands of someone that has a clue.

Wow, that's a really nice gain for the price. Wonder if fuel economy improves? Traditionally Aussie dynos seem to read proportionately less than our dynos. No idea the reason why, but a stock WRX usually pulls around ~100kw atw over there

Your Top 3 most rubbish cars you have driven
Top Secret replied to Driftit's topic in General Discussion
1. RB25DET RX7. This thing was slow, overheated, and was generally such a pain to drive I'd rather walk. We took it for a drive one day, and in the space of 30 minutes, it would overheat. So you pull over, pour about 6 litres of water over the radiator, and you'd be ok for about another 10 minutes of driving. Pull one skid however, and the temp is right up there. I hate this car with a passion. 2. 86 Navara ute. Purple. No wof no reg. Clunks from all corners of the ute, alarming ones at that. The speedo was like a trip counter, in that it would stick at the fastest speed you'd get to on that trip, and stay there. 5 speed column, and you were constantly revving the crap out of it to simply to stay with traffic. Death trap. Glad it's gone. 3. Can't even think of a third. -
Check to see if it is the same size as the gearbox drain and fill plug. If it is, then it's a 17mm hex. You should be able to pick up sockets at repco

Just thought it'd be a good thread to get new ideas on music and to share what we've been listening to, with possibly a youtube link for good measure. At the moment I'm listening to an Icelandic rock band called Kimono. Hard to find stuff, but I love it. Here's a link to a youtube video and their myspace Kimono on myspace.Definitely worth a look. What is everyone else listening to?

The manual box is in the other E30, 80% finished, just need to change the center hanger bearing for the driveshaft from the auto box over as the one I got with the conversion is too big. Oh, forgot to mention, it has a sports mode transmission, which is actually quite nice to have. Will be parting another E30 325i soon, watch this space.
