I have recently sold my 1999 206 GTi, had it for approx 7 years, never let me down. No more issues than I would expect from a Corolla ! Awesome wee car to drive, corners like its on rails Mine had done 175ks when sold it, still going strong and looking modern.

Is it 20yrs old for getting this complied ?? I thought it was 25, which this would be close to .......
-
Yep, like small batteries in cameras, phones etc !! They are over zealous about this and ask you every time you go to the counter with a parcel. Of course we have all heard of the 100's of planes and trucks that have caught fire due to a 3.7volt battery

Once the car has been run in the 2K cup then it can be on-sold for whatever price - the new price often reflects money spent on safety gear or maintainance. 2K refers to the original purchase price of a new entry into the field. Often the cars bought for 2K are in dire need of maintainance and replacement of brakes, wheels tyres etc. This sale price simply reflects the some of those costs.

Being a BMW and Pug owner, I spotted the blue Pug in one of your pics Is is a GTi/6 or a Xsi ? Great work on the BMW BTW

I assume you mean in your E39 ? I went thru the repair ( twice ) and secondhand unit, all failed again after 6 months - you might be lucky with s/h unit, but I ended up getting a brand new one from http://www.maf-shop.com/index.php/cat/c24_BMW-ABS-Control-Unit.html/XTCsid/23fdc5fde94cf302ea0005b3c05ee975 You will need to code it to the car or take it to somebody who can do it for you - might be easier in the long run to just go see Ray - I didn't have that option being 1000ks away ! Good luck.

I love the colour - reminds me of a BumbleBee ! I must say that pic with the dog, with the engine cover off reminds me of my days working in a lawnmower repair shop Cool Car , keep up the good work, great to see a car like this saved

Are the wing mirrors fold in type ? Is the mirror glass in good nick ? The drivers one in my 530i has run in the LCD / Auto Dimming, and is hard to see with. Don't care if I loose the auto dimming feature, but need fold in to fit in my garage

DIY: E46 Retrofit Infrared to Radio Frequency remote control
camera doctor replied to andyb184's topic in Electrical system
Do you know if this can be done on a E39 ?? I have always wanted to do this - especially as I already have a Diamond Key coded and cut to my car, after a stuff up my Jeff Grays ! On that - the key Grays sold me would be 433 MHz correct ?? ( is there a way to find out ? ) -
I did the wet and dry method on my old 540i and they came up quite well, finished with polycarb polish. Plenty of products around, I don't know if they are snake oil though ? http://www.meguiars.co.nz/video/meguiars_headlight_restoration_kit/ http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Turtle-Wax-Headlight-Restorer-Kit-1-pack.aspx?pid=283622#Cross http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Rain-X-Headlight-Restoration-Kit-Kit.aspx?pid=330154#Cross

My Dad had a 1961 Ferrari GT California with bugger all k's on it in his collection, I took a day off school and drove it into town, left it with Valet parking. When I came back it had 100's of K's on it. I had to jack the back up and run it in reverse. !! This did not turn out well ...... ........ oH no, wait, that was my mate Ferris Bueller !

Apple iPhone refurbish experience or knowledge anyone?
camera doctor replied to qube's topic in Off-Topic
Smells like wtaer damage from here ........ But that is just a guess. Apple will not swap if the water damage indicators have gone - shine a light into the headphone jack, if you see pink, leave it. -
90 day beige ??

Wow, just gone thru the Facebook build from the UK, you certainly have a lot of work ahead of you, not least the wiring it seems. Epic car though !

You'll love it Glenn - my wife and I purchased a VW LT46 chassis one of these 2 yrs ago - with being self employed like you, we find it great after a shitty week, jump in Friday night, point it in 'X' direction and park when tired. What we do is empty the waste and refill the tanks ( water, diesel, LPG etc ) on the way home BEFORE we park it up, so that it is ALWAYS ready to go for the next trip. Buy some clothes that stay in the camper, along with tinned food, bottle of whiskey etc, all you need to take then is fresh meat and some cold beers Join the NZMCA too for lots of free places to camp.

Any WOF inspectors on here ? - Glenn ?? I have bought an old Tandem Axle Salvage Trailer for use with my race Car. It has never had lighting fitted, so I need to do that to get it up to WOF standard. The deck tilts for loading, so the only 'easy' place to put the lights on, are the mudguards. I have spent some time on the LTSA website and other forums etc trying to get a straight answer as to if that is legal / WOF fail ? Can anybody verify / point me to diagrams / legislation regarding this. If I need to have the lights at the end of the trailer, I'll have to weld on some plates or something to hold them. Thanks

My son 's E36 318 ( Jap Import ) has been draining the battery for no good reason, and then the blower fan started to get really intermittant - more often than not it would not go, even though the display was working. A quick Google suggests both these issue could be due to a failed Blower Motor Resistor / Hedgehog / FSR I dismantled the car to check, as it seems there are different types. His car uses one that seems the be the one more commonly found in E39's Markings on it are : GKR 9 140 010 196 944 W 0422958 Made in France BEHR BMW 8 362 931 Has anybody got one of these for sale ?? Can anybody confirm I am on the right track ? Thanks
