  1. Thanks Glenn Although, my Touring is getting all the gifts ! Going in today for cooling system overhaul - thermostat, water pump, both idlers and serpentine belt. Hopefully it will run at correct temperature after all that
  2. You'll be keeping well clear of the kerbs then ....
  3. I spotted that car the other day while trolling on TradeMe .... Wive is after a camper for similar money, so I suggested the M3 and we could stay in Motels ... Did not work though :D

NZ Apple Online store has the 'Poverty Pack" 8GB 4G at $899 from 14th October ( release day of the 4s ) UK Apple Store has the 4s 'Starting' at 499 Pound, which will be for the 16GB, so I guess that is around NZ $1050, so when NZ finally gets them in December, they may be +/- $1000 on a 24month plan ?? Oh to be in USA where the 3Gs is Free, 4 8GB is $99 and the new 4s is $199 - $399 depending on GBs ! Seems that Vodafone NZ pissed Apple off with the 4 launch, so has been taken off the first 2 launch days
  5. 1. Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent. 2. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything." 3. Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted. 4. A dyslexic man walked into a bra. 5. A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm, and says: "A beer please, and one for the road." 6. Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other: "Does this taste funny to you?" 7. "Doc, I can't stop singing The Green, Green Grass of Home." "That sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome." "Is it common?" "Well, It's Not Unusual." 8. Two cows are standing next to each other in a field. Daisy says to Dolly, "I was artificially inseminated this morning." "I don't believe you," says Dolly. "It's true; no bull!" exclaims Daisy. 9. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either. 10. Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before. 11. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day, but I couldn't find any. 12. A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted, "Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!" The doctor replied, "I know, I amputated your arms!" 13. I went to a seafood disco last week... and pulled a mussel. 14. What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh. 15. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says, "Dam!" 16. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Not surprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too. 17. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel, and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office, and asked them to disperse. "But why," they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said. "I can't stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer." 18. A woman has twins, and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt , and is named 'Ahmal.' The other goes to a family in Spain ; they name him 'Juan.' Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan, you've seen Ahmal." 19. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (oh, man, this is so bad, it's good) ... a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis. 20. A dwarf, who was a mystic, escaped from jail. The call went out that there was a small medium at large. 21. And finally, there was the person who sent twenty different puns to his friends, with the hope that at least ten of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did.
  6. Did you do the rattle repair or just the seals ? Cheers
  7. That did cross my mind Where abouts would I connect to the aerials, and can you elaborate on the DC blocker please Thanks
  8. Dave - Sorry was only in CHCH for Saturday, up to see the Motorhome Expo See the Ebay link in my original post for cost and seller. nordschleife - I am using the AV inputs on the Video Module M5V8 - Worked great in CHCH. Used the Auto Tune to tune in CHCH frequencies, and it also picked up a few Radio Stations that do not seem to be available in Timaru Reception was definately better when car stationary, but I may be able to improve this by position of the aerials, and hey, you should only be using while stationary Picture quailty is actually pretty good, it is just the text on the EPG that is hard to see, whihc is as much to do with the small font size, which does not seem to be able to be changed.
  9. Saw one in Timmers a couple of days ago, Geez they are looong !! Can imagine them in 10yr time when they are $10k with 20" Chromies and a driver sitting low with cap on backwards !!
  10. Thank Allan, Yep, that shroud got broken by my mechanic at last anti-freeze change -_- It has been glued with Plastic Weld and seems to be holding ... so far !! Do you remember how much the shroud was ? May be worth doing the complete job as you did. Cheers
  11. The pics are the unit in my car, so it goes great !!
  12. Just had a play with this over the weekend. Purchased on Ebay, came nice and fast, free shipping. Ebay Auction First thing you need to do is do the AV in Mod to your Video Module - Plenty of threads about how to do that on here and other forums. Then the DVB-T box simply plugs into the AV in, there is a IRed remote sensor that you can run to the front of the car, and the two aerials sit by side windows of my Touring, I guess on a Sedan you could put them on the rear Screen or Parcel Shelf. Here is PRIME TV ( if you look close you can see the PRIME Logo ) Program Info ( Moire pattern is from camera, pic is clear in car ) EPG - this is a little hard to see on the 16:9 screen as resolution is not the best on this 10year old LCD Teletext works, if anyone uses that Apparently you can plug a USB pendrive into the unit and use as a PVR too !! It also has 3x Composite Video Outputs, so you could drive the front screen plus 2 headrest LCDs for the back seat passengers. Also has HDMI output if you wanted to put in a bigger or clearer LCD, or if your car does not have the BMW screen. Reception seems not too bad, considering Timaru is not the best yet for DVB-T, I would guess it would work even better in the bigger centres. I am off the CHCH this Saturday, so will see how it goes there.
  13. 2003 E39 530i Touring. I've been doing a few highway runs lately and noticed the E39 seems to be running cold on the gauge. Around town it sits slightly left of centre, but once I get on the highway, it falls into cold zone. Last week when the outside temp was 5 Degrees, it ran right into the blue zone. Today at 20 degrees outdoor, it still sat right on the righthand edge of the blue zone. I am guessing it really should be somewhere near centre always ? Thermostat failure ? Thoughts ? Thanks
  14. Road trip ??? B) Captain Transporter $633 + GST if you do not want insurance
  15. Nice car - white version of mine ! It is a slippery slope once you start down that track I got hooked and so far I have done MKIV Nav, Version 13 Bluetooth ULF, DICE Ipod Integration, AV Input leads and I have just ordered a DVB-T tuner :P Expensive to do all this, but works really good and gives what is a ten year old car features of new models ( voice control etc ) Enjoy !
  16. Wow ! The media would lead you to believe that the Americans are on the bones of their arse, but look at the bids on these !!!
  17. I traded my 540i sedan for a 530i touring as I needed the space for work gear. I can honestly say that although I do miss the V8 grunt, the 530i is a better drive. It has enough grunt for passing and corners a lot better than the sedan ever did. Much more comfortable long distance cruiser, the firm suspension actually makes for a better long distance car IMHO I have had the 530i for 18 months now, just a couple of usual E39 niggles ( Heater taps, ABS CPU, cracking plastic parts in engine bay, Windscreen washer pump ) But these are fairly normal failures for E39 I have a friend with a E46 Touring - MUCH smaller load space and lacks features such as the 16:9 screen etc. You will not regret it if you buy carefully
  18. My touring has them Option 470 Child Seat Isofix Attachment
  19. Does anybody know what weight has to be the seat for the occupancy sensor to register ? Would a carseat and baby be light enough that the bag would not go off ? Still safer to put bubs in the back - plus many E39 have ISOFIX fittings in the rear whihc makes this easier too
  20. Watch the video on this link V8 Oh Yeah ! :D :D :D :D
  21. LOTS of them on Ebay, and with the NZ Dollar so strong, good time to buy. Ebay Example
