-
Hot hot hot! and welcome..... where do you hail from?
-
na they are crappy. S6's on the other hand, never need expensive parts and servicing
-
Welcome, is that your Alpine??!!
-
Sorry i word my replies shockingly- what i meant was the C2.5 was a Sytner- only special model, whereas the C2 2.5 was shared with germany. Dont worry I'm not a naysayer I want your car. I intend on bidding.
-
C2.5 not to be confused with C2 2.5 was a sytner special, and will have a BMW engine number edit: whoops already said that earlier... oh well
-
a crappy red 318i wagon went for bout 1500 up here a few years ago- not exactly the dark ages either, e30s were the same price then as now!
-
I would say for that example 1800- 2500 max? Well that is what IIII would pay. maybe other people value them
-
West Hoe road is another goodie in Orewa
-
Lovers lane just north of Wellsford ( i think?).... the sign was changed all the time, each time higher up the power pole..... now it is almost at the top!
-
C2.5= not an Alpina engine..... Just a Fl 2.5L with 2.7 ECU, maybe has headers whacked on but doesnt have to. Sytner managed to eventually tell me that yes they had built mine into an Alpina (they hadnt recorded what model) and that was a 1986- so i'm sure that all it will take is friendly liaison with them for this one. My car just had BMW/ ALPINA E30_________0266 ( i think that was the number- it became ingrained!!) as i eventually found most Sytner alpinas in that day omitted the model designation on plaque. Although this is a somewhat redundant statement because i'm not sure if C2.5's were give a plaque at all. New plaques for sale on eBay have different wording of the Alpina company than the ollld plaques did also.
-
As- is i cant help but agree..... and at that C2.5 were a dealer- special model... but i guess at the end of the day its all better than standard eh!
-
I can count on one finger the amount of people regretting a recent purchase.... Yeah when you stick the alpina price on top of a touring price- what can ya expect but a higher price! If people are wanting performance they are better off with a manual 325i- but if thats's not what they are after......
-
This is an Alpina guys- Sytner built, much like an M325i spec but also with 2.7 ECU. correctly badged C2.5. I did a bit of research on it when i was in dunedin

Perhaps See if the 120km car has just passed some major service hurdles that the 75km one hasnt? That may mean it works out even better value again! If the two have reached the same levels of service then i would go for the 75km one.... 2k isnt much for such a KM difference. K'ms may not matter soo much to us BMW fans, but they almost always do to the person you on- sell it to.

Glenn- ouch new ECU's! There is an avant being wrecked in drury but i'm not sure if manul or not... prob not. Fair call on the point being luxobarge..... Simon- Haha good call! filthy previa- i wash my car 20 times a day to get the smell of japan out. But my engione is just too awesome! They can take a lot of power... (think sport quattro S1) maybe some RS2 turbo/manifold upgrades in the near future..... S4's have a lame engine... powerful, but problematic and not too strong beyond factory. It is a consideration though i must say.... i'm on car 13 now i think, and with that track record i do wonder when my mind will change!
-
Engine number is AAN014769 referred to as the 'AAN' engine VIN number is WAUZZZ4AZRN070901 That'd be awesome thanks Glenn- but don't bust a gut over it- just if the info is readily available.
-
I want my flagship barge manual- can you help me with that?
-
hey cheers Glenn, I have done a small amount of research on the net, but the problem is, the US didnt get the autos, and i cant seem to find anything about it in the UK... NZ forum VASK is pretty piss poor so far as anything goes.... The "is it even possible" question on top of very hard to find quattro manual box, i think may render it a waste of energy......
-
My urS4 (S6) has an auto box. While it is a fantastic adaptive ZF with perfect changes and well serviced- it just feels a bit too cushy for a performance car..... When you floor it she goes like hell, but like hell on a cloud. I want to feel the tractable power.... Anyone ever done a Quattro manual conversion? This is a very hard model to come by so cant simply 'sell and get a manual'. This is mostly just putting a feeler out there, as IMO there are 4 things which contribute to the cushy feel.... -heavy sound deadening -torque converter!!!! -heavy car -lame sounding exhaust at low revs

To what end were you asking him about the chipping and blow off valve? Do you pick fights with guys who wear pink t- shirts? He may be a moron but its not really that cool to go 'moron hunting' in my opinion. So he talks about what he doesnt know..... who cares? Just walk away..... its only a car, a cheap car.... Not report- worthy. Those are extra details of an item being advertised to inspect, not terms of a sale. The world doesnt care that its a 7 series nor what that means if it ever meant anything. It's another car, that is all. Hot rims though.

Hmm i can't recall E30 jacks to well (even if i had 4!) But my E36 had same jack with the probe thing that sticks into car as my mercs did, and one day i had the merc up changing a tyre and she rolled forward on the jack! I also used to nail my hand when I got a bit enthusiastic with the winding.......

NZI, while trading as an insurer same as state, ami etc etc, is IAG's NZ face.....
-
Oooooo I'd be fuming as well! I have had the same problem but when i was younger...... I am insured now with ASB who are fantastic (IAG/ NZI also) and now realise that it is STATE that is the problem and not IAG...
