  1. Finished off the wiring for the SMG from the E46 to the E39 loom. Tested all the button out put signals, all working. So hopefully I can get this fully installed tomorrow
  2. Hi all, ive built the wiring kit for the smg set up, but a little stuck on the pins for the 10 pin connector. Does anyone know what they are.. 1 - Empty 2 - Airbag Stage1 3 - Airbag Stage1 4 - Airbag Stage2 5 - Airbag Stage2 6 - Horn 7 - Ground 8 - Cruise Control 9 - I Bus 10 - 12v + (to Fuse 44) Is the above correct?
  3. Since we have some panels currently being blasted and coated to finish off the tray, I though I'd do some of the random mini jobs. Made a nice hole for the twin muffler set up.. Started on the wiring for the SMG conversion.. The blue wires are for shifting up and down, the white is for engaging sports mode (when both paddles are pulled at the same time) Made this harness that will plug directly into the factory unit Then managed to start pop riveting the tray walls in for welding tomorrow. Also got some expanding foam in all the nooks and crannies behind the cabin wall so we don't have any air leaks in the cabin.
  4. Thanks, but got it sorted. Pretty simple now that it's don't hahaha
  5. Do you know what these go for?
  6. ahhhhhhh um, does anyone know how to fix this?
  7. Fantastic news! Lance from lvvt has come and approved all the work to date. So time to start getting all the panels welded into place. What they are or will be most concerned about, is the rear window frame to the B pillar and welds for the doors to be closed, so the next time he comes around, hopefully will be to cert the ute
  8. Hahah yes they are. Where is the sensor pad? I haven't stripped the seat yet. Got any pics of your seats?
  9. After 14 hours, give or take, finally got the drivers chair done
  10. 4 hours to retro fit the bottom of the aftermarket seat. Looks pretty good so far. Had a moment where I was kinda hoping it would be a straight bolt on, but nah..
  11. Also have just listed the M5 Style Steering wheel http://www.trademe.co.nz/browse/listing.aspx?id=773695020
  12. Just bought one of these with matching gear knob and panels. Will be selling my M spec wheel next week...
  13. Yes this is true, however, the heated pads are stitched directly to the leather covers, might have to get my sewing kit out
  14. Sweet, I'll get the air pump out for you tomorrow. I'm keeping the frame of the seats, but the foam pads and rear plastic trim with fold out thingy I'll probably land up giving or throwing away. If I can get the heated seat pads out of the leather, I'll use those too, if I can't I'll do the same with them as I will with the foam. Won't be using the head rests either
  15. Well they aren't the recaro sportsters cs, but they will do for now... And since it's going to be raining for the next week, time to start stripping down the standard seats to mount these buckets and getting them mounted to the standard frame
  16. Just had a pretty positive call from Lance "the cert guy" - who will be coming around on Monday next week to have a looksee. As I am not modifying any security to the front compartment and there will be no passengers in the rear "cough cough" , he recons it will just be down to a few items on his list to look for. So fingers crossed
  17. Sounds like the next project maybe? Make the first 5 series coupe?

  20. You should bring her around next weekend, will be good to see this beast in person.
  21. Yea I found this company in the states that make aftermarket steering wheels. They are replicated off the OEM wheels, but are lighter and have way more funk. All the OEM parts clip or bolt on so that's good. I just need to figure out what wheel I have haha
  22. Im in the process of upgrading the steering wheel in my 5 Series, but not sure what the Type is. Does anyone know if this is a 0B, 1B or ZB?
  23. Yea, ive spoken to Mark Stokes and sent him quite a few detailed emails. He is handing this over to Lance as Lance has more time, so hoping he can pop around over the next 2 weeks to do a spot check
  24. So, test-fitted the panels yesterday. They fit pretty well. So will spend the next few days trimming the over laps. Also managed to get the cabin walls in and pop riveted, so hopefully with in the next week, we will have the entire tray wall done.
