  1. Thanks for the hook up. Dave is sorting me out next week. Pretty well priced too
  2. I think I may be able to help. We haver 2 SC14s running on our Hondas. Where are you thinking of placing it? we removed the air con and have a guy who makes up the brackets for us.
  3. Ah cheers Julian. haha love their webpage intro. Will give them a call today.
  4. Does anyone know of a good sand blaster where I could get all the sheet metal for my ute blasted ready for prep paint?
  5. Ah nice. Im heading down next Wednesday too. Looks like you had a good spin around
  6. bugger. was that the green wagon from North Shore? Pitty, I have a spare working compressor and the details for the airbag to spring conversion in regards to certs etc
  7. Yea will be good to see how you par them up once your 8er is running better. Reason I as, is that im almost finished with the fabrication on the ute tray, so will be looking at engine conversion next month. So at the moment, ill be looking at a 540 donor car, OR, a 750 as I have started liking the V12 set up allot after reading a few forums and test driving a few 7series. So you'd be the best person to speak to in regards to comparison for performance haha
  8. Hey man, quick question. How are you finding the performance difference between your 8series your 5series?
  9. This will be pretty sweet once its finished.. I would like to do the sedan conversion like this after my E39 project
  10. White on Black looks good in an older car. Ive wrapped a few interiors before, so if you need a hand, I can send you some pointers. But yes, the inner corners are pretty hard, you have to stretch the vinyl and wok it mm at a time, then let it cool, heat it again to shrink it and repeat
  11. when I stripped my touring I noticed this as well, turned out the rubber "seal" that surrounds the boot (cabin side) isn't all that sealed. After pulling this off, I noticed a decent amount of rust as well as a few pin holes along the bottom where the rear lock was. Water was seeping through there. Might be worth a look. Another spot I noticed that has water leak in the touring, was on the rear door towards the very top. On either side there are 2 rubber stoppers that have wire feeds going through from the roof, into the tail gate, this has some water in as well and was dripping down the tail gate into the bottom where the interior light is.
  12. Sweet, ill go have a looksee. I used this Matte Black coat designed for heaters once, it worked really well. Only problem now is that its $35 a can from Mitre10 or Bunnings
  13. They do look really good! What coat did you use? and where did you get it from? Im in need of something like this for the rear of my ute
  14. Yea but the weight of the entire SLS is substantially high, I'll still be keeping the system, in case the adjustable set up doesn't work. And not sure how well SLS would handle around a track etc
  15. Received my E46 adjustable springs today. Hoping to get them fitted with the adjustable shocks in the next few days
  16. Thanks lads, ive just emailed them with the details of my standard battery VS what will be needed to run the new engine and setup etc, will see what they say. I have some heavy duty audio gear I rad in my DB drag car that I will be using to help with the power load etc, it worked wonders in the other car
  17. http://www.mrpositive.co.nz/gel-cell-lead-acid-batteries/?gclid=CjgKEAjw286dBRDmwbLi8KP71GQSJAAOk4sjRIAaAGPlhrEIqwSF4sL01PV_emrkzzvFlA9102-Y3_D_BwE Wowsa, talk about heavy duty...price
  18. Ah that ain't to bad. I'll take a drive down to the auto battery place in Albany tomorrow to have a look at what they have. If it's gonna save me time and space, then $500 will be worth it I guess.
  19. Hi, from last month? I sold almost all the touring interior
  20. What is a Gel battery? We are under budget for the project so far, so I'm sure we could invest in a decent battery
  21. Haha yea I'm just re calculating another relocation point to fit the standard battery, hopefully there is enough clearance under the new floor..
  22. That could be an idea with the two smaller batteries Andrew, could connect them in series or something. Ill have a play around this weekend and see what the go is
  23. Yea I agree, like she starts up fine with a DIN55, but that is allot wider then what im after. it has the height that im after, just not the width. Will probably need to go to a battery centre of some sort id imagine..OR find another relocation point to fit the standard one
  24. Fellow Sporters, im in need of some advise around a replacement battery for an E39. My Ex-Touring had the standard massive brick, but I have relocated the battery to another part of the car and was hoping run something slightly smaller. No I have less then half the electronics running now, after having removed all the Audio and Nav gear along with interior lights. Any suggestions on what kind of battery I could use?
