Compressed OEM Springs? Cant find aftermarket springs.
Apex replied to a topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Hm. Once against, call Keith at Stocks. He used to import them and will likely be able to get them sorted. I had them in my E30 Touring and I found them a bit soft for enthusiastic driving, but they did give a nice stance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Does the CSI have the same shocks? The reason there may not be a lot of drop available is because the car may not work well when lowered too much. Its a shame you can't get a coil-over for it. -
I have found the apps not so great when out of main towns TBH. Often you can't even get Pizza when in small towns... or the Pizza places close really early... Also. It seems a lot of the Pizza in small towns comes with two or three sides. Tell ya what is choice. Virtual car shopping in the UK. Their pricing is well out of whack in places. New cars are worth a crap load where 8-10 year old cars are worth nothing. Planing a European road trip is also fun.

I have found some quality Pizza on them to be honest... all you can eat with a desert buffet... I ate so much I had to go to my GP for a check up, I thought I had developed an eating disorder. Maybe you are using the Domino's app.

Did this sell yet? Are they 15" wheels? Thanks.

Reputable. All got was attitude from the "lady" at the counter. I ended up having to buy new springs.. so cost a lot for what was meant to be a cheap mod. Have you looked at H&R? Keith is the man to talk to, have fitted them in the past with good results. http://www.hrsprings.com/application/search/results/4/178/1992 -
This was mental. Some crazy cars there. Like this... Turbo 20b with AWD!

Just re reading this thread. I would strongly advise not to go to Archers in Takanini. They managed to wreck a set of springs I planned on fitting to my E30 M325i, I asked for a slight lowering and they come back useless. Literally put the car on its bump stops. Save up and buy decent suspension. Its worth it. -

Good luck. This one is awesome IMHO. Colour combo is lush... http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-881510405.htm

OK. Thanks for the pointers. Valid point on the track vs Blind road situation. Have done Targa a few times, and that is essentially blind, and we will get many days out of both tyres and pads. I only know the track from the video games.. and I would be taking it easy as I do not want to stack my M5, together with the track, its two things in my bucket list. Was more asking because I do not want to turn up and find the brakes are so bad they expire straight away.

Thanks. So maybe fit new disks and pads and some decent fluid. It won't be tracked over here, well maybe a trackday here and there for some drifting. Have you or anyone else had any dealings with UK BMW tuners and part suppliers? Is there any E39 M5 forums worth checking out? Looking at a 2002-2003 car, wanting to find a few options regarding the factory entertainment system upgrades. Would like the ability to plug my I-Phone/I-Pad into the OEM stereo.

Thanks. They look sexy and that is a good price for a shifter. I can tell you that the Genuine Parts RS one I priced up from my car was over $300!

How are the brakes on the E39 M5? I have read mixed reviews on their effectiveness when the car is being tracked? I am looking at buying one and plan on driving it around Europe with a week at the Nurburgring and want to know if it will handle the jandel. I have seen something called the "cooling" mod mentioned, curious to hear if anyone had done this. I am trying to figure if its worth fitting an aftermarket "big brake kit" or simply fitting new OEM disks, some better pads and fluid... I am relatively easy on brakes in my driving, i.e., I am not a driver who brakes late and hard, more smooth and fast. Appreciate an feedback as I am trying to construct a plan of attack and would like to have a list ready for when I am in England, as in where to shop etc. Seeing the car will be imported to NZ for me to keep, I don't mind spending money in the right places. And from what I have seen its often necessary to replace these parts to get compliance anyway. Also plan of fitting KW Suspension as well. Will follow with more E39 related questions in time.

Compressed springs are useless from what I have experienced. Problem with them is that that the engineering company can never guaranty how much the car will lower and they do not increase the spring rate so you will often end up with a car that is too low and too soft. So it essentially f**ks the car... unless you want a low car to impress teenage boys, then they are perfect. In my experience I would actually prefer cut springs if was going the cheap hory mod route, at least that often results in a stiffer spring rate. Personally I would not bother even lowering a car unless I was prepared / could afford to do it properly.. i.e. H&R/Eibach and Bilstienlargers -
Do these fit VW Golfs? Is it for SMG cars only?

Haha. Think I hit 170kph backwards through the pits! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome. That is gorgeous.

This is the best BMW I have ever driven. It is also aesthetically near perfect, seats, bodykit, stance, wheels etc. I wish the seller all the best. That engine with its tune and AFM delete sounds glorious. Wish I had a spare 25k that I could spend without missing.

It looks nice though, not complaining. I wonder if you can change it in settings?? Or type in Word and Cut and Paste.

While I'm ranting. I hate the white on black text in this forum, my eyes struggle to see mistakes.... and there are always a lot!

Its similar. I just get my screen really clean and them use the spray with every wash, its easy as to use and a bottle lasts a couple of years. Similar experience to you, I race a lot in the rain and my sprayers don't work so I tend not to use my wipers unless I really have to.

Pukekohe Rally sprint this Sunday at the race track. Driver doc from 9am. Come for a hoon if your around, this event was awesome last year. You need to be a car club member and have minimum a club sport licence... Think car will need a cage, authority card, logbook etc. Check out my incur from last year.

Try Glass Science cleaners, you can get them at Repco. The Spray is great. I love the stuff, don't even need wipers a lot of the time. I hate dirty widescreen... To the extent I refuse to drive some peoples cars, especially at night when the inside of their screen is filthy.

Not funktional. But this would be a nice peacocking car.
