E38 Sub woofer install and amp upgrade
Apex replied to jimbo01's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Its going to be a tight fit, the speakers have a massive chassis, double the size of the stock ones. Those speakers will be bugger all better than factory if they are not installed with a nice flat flush tight seal, so it may be a good idea to have them mounted buy a pro, they may need a decent amount of spacing just to clear the window mech. Keep us all updated. -
This, take it easy for the first few sessions and then go hard on them one lap per session after that, you should not have any problems. People go way to hard or road brakes at these days, its only a bit of fun and and extra second off your lap time and rooted brakes wont win any prizes. Tyre pressures are a topic of constant conversation at these days, people stand around talking sh*t with there flash gages wanking on... myself included. I only run my old wagon on the track a couple of times and seeing it ran a higher profile tyre with soft side walls I just ran it at mid thirties cold. Best thing you can do is do your first run at road pressure and see how you get on, if it sucks take a couple of PSI out. Its easy to take out then put back in with a foot pump.

No worries mate, glad to hear you got them ok. Just noticed your front components are the same as what I run, test mount those tweeters as they are firkin powerful, mine were so bright I turned them away from direct air shot. Probably obvious but better to test and get it right first time. System is going to sound the biz, you should get a fantastic sound stage and a seamless blend of bass, mid a treble, are you controlling output with the factory deck? -
Good stuff. Looks to be of a fantastic specification, NZ new, wide screen, leather, M5 mirrors. Well done! You know you are going to upgrade those wheels though

You go to my gym What business you in mate?

If you write them a nice letter and throw in an extra $20 they speed up Looking forward to this James, good warm up for Taupo next week.

Same colour as Dips E30 Touring from back in 07. It’s not a BMW colour, it’s not even from a German car auto manufacturer And Byzanze Orange looks nothing at all like it.

Really. Have never seen one

Yea I have always thought of that but cant be f**ked, 77hp is heaps for me It’s OK, was mint but has been driven through a house, like literally into a house and through the wall, ended up in an bathroom when my sister was learning to drive in it. It’s done a u turn on the harbour bridge before barriers, been round Greenlane round about the wrong way and has a few spots of skin cancer that are slowly eating it.. Been through three generations of family and been the learn-to-drive tool for many, anyone can drive one. They don’t really do anything great other than keep on going and going on an oily rag mine has cost me under $1,000 in maintenance over the last ten years, that includes tyres and oil.

I still have one of these as a run-about, has been in the family since new, goes great guns. Mine is a 86 F/L 1.3 XL Hatch though, extra large spec with a Tachometer, extra storage and factory Hubcaps, have added custom carbon roof liner, black paint around the windows and sills, a GT rear sway, Dobinson springs for a slight stance and some massive 185 14 tyres. Great first car, I really do believe you can’t break these cars. Good luck with the sale. Made in NZ too

Is there a way to change the e92 325i exhaust to dual exit quad pipe?
Apex replied to djasonz's topic in Performance
Take the 2.5k and buy an E30. That way you will have quad pipes, seats, lights, doors and other things that only come in pairs on your car. Or go to Fiji for a dirty weekend, way more fun than four pipes. -
That is a mean interior, nice use of suede, Ryan (RJS) would be proud. I would hook the up and down paddles u to my system
-
Good call, it’s bloody expensive, you are paying over $20 for four small bottles of Tuatara, it does come in a nice box though A nice Whisky will always win for me. Always fall back on The Glenn Livet but am always keen to try new ones, they are not so cheap Duty Free anymore though

Lol thats the one, EPIC IPA. Alc/Vol - 6.66% (the number of the yeast)

Haha, I drive a French car and have a bit of class, the French beer is crap though Most of mates drink that Lion Red stuff as did I when I was younger as you can simply keep on drinking the crap and you dont get drunk, it has no taste and all it does for me is make me feel bloated and want to piss a lot, It’s not beer and TBH I question whether it actually even has alcohol in it. I know that the people that make it and market it don’t even drink the stuff.
-
Epic I.P.A is nice in summer, but thier Armageddon is fricken awesome I love that we can get a huge range of Micro brew beers here now, I would rather 4 Quality beers than 12 watered down over carbonated rubbish like Tui, Lion or DB.

Seasonal. It’s cold so a nice red wine is always good. Favourite at the moment, Short Glass, Ice, Wedge of Lime, One part Johnny Walker, One part Red Label Green Ginger wine topped off with lemonade. After three I just throw away everything bar the glass and the bottle of Johnny Walker and kiss good buy to the following day.

Opposed to how it is in Waitakere. Can see merits in it but it’s not a solution, we have friends that live out there and they hate it. I think they should ban the use of cell phones when drinking just like they have driving, it’s dangerous and can destroy people’s lives
-
What’s new. I was doing that when I was younger, as was my dad and his mates and his dad… only difference is as you get older you stop bragging about it. I know pople in quite interesting positions in lfe that drink like a fish, if you want an example of this head to a wine festival or a swanky dinner party.

The M3 puts out an even 400NM.
-
And I had friends die in a car accidents, should we ban cars for under 21 year old too? Im guessing the neanderthalic testosterone driven muppet that killed someone at party was fuelled by a little more than alcohol, as easy as it is to blame it on one substance.
-
Fully agree, growing up were given a beer on special occasions and were purchased alcohol at an earlier age and drank at home with parents. There are far greater evils out there that these self righteous straight people should be worried about, I know of a few mates who have lost everything and had start over again and again because of them, a binge drink every now and then is not a grave concern IMHO.
-
Or just take your $60,000 car to BMW and pay a few dollars more have it serviced properly, when it comes to resale of a modern car a dealer service history is appealing and shows the owner has looked after it. You could always do it yourself if you want to save money
-
I must be very ignorant and naive because, yes I am, because I really fail to see how drinking is a problem, it looks to e the straight and boring people who have the problems. I may be alone but I did and still do really enjoy catching up with mates, drinking way too much and having fun. Banning RTD’s won’t do sh*t, the guys will drink beer or buy a bottle of cheap whisky (and pass out) and the girls will just down some cheap bubbly crap.

It’s not going to change anything, the Indian fellow at one of the 10 liquor shops in Papakura will still more than happily supply alcohol to any under aged persons uncle/aunty mother or father just as they did when I was 14 or 15 and the age was 20 or 21. Going to make it way harder for me to stalk out 18 year old drunk chicks at the pub though
