    A few pics of mine

Two times Turbo and a Power Bulge. Now we are talking. It’s the automotive equivalent of stuffing a sock down your purple budgie smugglers. Its either that or a wine rack in the boot.
  2. Hows this going James? I need a race seat, anyone got any hook ups?
  3. Agreed, that price is simply ridiculous, I love my modern grandma cars, especially at trackdays but you would have to be pretty bloody blind to take one over an M3, RS4, HSV or the like. I wonder if they sell any in NZ?

    Front Drive BMW ?

Agreed. A modern FWD chassis is a nice thing and the latest generation Mini is dam fine drive spoiled by a girly appearance, this looks like it will resolve that. 1995+ non M3/5/6 BMW’s are all open diff and under electronic control anyways, hardly a recipe of power slides, wallowing tank slapping is more like it.
  5. Nice video. You should defiantly D-Spec it Simon, better still TRD the f**k out of it.

    Front Drive BMW ?

Killing the brand, since when were BMW still a premium brand? They haven’t been for years. They need a FWD to compete with everyone else, this car will spawn three off spring and be the money makers for BMW. It does look nice, as does the New Audi A1.
  7. Depends on how you look at it, they run a Michelin Pilot Sport II which is an awesome tyre, I was speaking with a guy on the weekend who has got near 30,000km out of his set including quite a few track days and from the looks of them he will get quite a few more. They may cost twice as much as say a Dunlop or Toyo but they will grip better and last twice as long so the cost equals itself out. As for ride quality amd noise, that’s personal preference, I don’t think they ride bad at all for what is a high performance saloon car, nicely compromised if you ask me. The fellow didn’t seem to care about the cost, when you are spending $180,000 on a car $1,000 for a tyre is chumps change, it’s the owners in ten years time who will struggle and like most E46 M3’s you see will run cheapo alternatives that compromise what BMW were trying to achieve in the first place. They will justify/mask their thriftiness saying the run flats were horrible
  8. Agreed. Whenever im in Takapuna I visit BMW and sit in the white four door M3 making brom brom noises and pretending to drift You mean correct sized tyres? Fitting narrower tyres with a lower profile would slow it down big time, no way I would want the 19" option.
  9. They are a nice car, the English love fast Fords and that is who this car is built for, I would think this edition would be hard to obtain and will be a future forn nutters collectable, even the regular RS is limited numbers car. As an idea of how overpriced the Ford is here, In England they cost similar money to the Megane RS250, a car that will land here for low 50’s and a car that will match it performance wise, it also has a much nicer cabin as its based on a new Megane not an old Ford. Also remember you can get a VW Sirocco R for well under 70K here. Fanboy video
  10. There is a crowd down the line that are bringing them in, had a sit in a few of the RS's at speed-show and TBH its still very much a ford inside.

    This is why!

Nice post. Some of us are are being very hypocritical, I have been on cruises with members on this very forum and seen some very interesting driving that could have very easily resulted in a freak accident, I have been in the car with and spotted lots of us driving in manors that could very quickly have things getting away on us. Myself and most of my friends could have easily been in this young chaps position as a youngsters, I think a lot of us could have, illegal modifications or not I think the system have played this brilliantly, whilst his punishment won’t be harsh he has done the honourable thing and owned up and faced his mistakes in front of NZ, let’s hope him doing so is a lesson to all of us.
  12. I would like a copy. Box of beer?
  13. Im not trying to take anything away from the man, just giving my opinion. Im loving this season in F1, it has been the most enjoyable for years for me.
  14. Rule changes, limited testing, whatever, should the greatest driver of all time need lots of practice? He has had 11 races this season now, with every race plenty of practice before qualifying and racing. The excuses were valid for the first couple of races but come on. The current rules and regulations should if anything show who the best drivers are. And yes, calling Nico a rookie was a bit harsh, he is a good driver in his own right but to be showing up the master in the same car, a car that has been and is as fast as other cars in the top ten this year? Have never been a fan of the Red team and hated the recent era they were king so maybe that has blurred my view of the great man that is Schumacher.
  15. 2.5 S14 in its last evolution. 350 odd hp from memory. The Ford Sierra’s and Nissan Skyline’s were sh*t loads faster by 1992 but the old M3 held its own on the tighter tracks. This was a very entertaining and a very sad year at Bathurst, I remember it well. Check out DJ’s qualifying session if you want to see some driving
  16. You have seen the race points and qualifying times this year haven’t you? He has one thirds the points of his rookie team mate and is constantly out qualified, worse still is that his car is faster than most in the top ten. Tell me he is the best when he is behind drivers in equal or lesser cars? He is making mistakes all over the show. Maybe we could put it down to age but IMHO the “best driver in the world†wouldn’t have a problem with the 2010 cars, they are as raw as they have been in years and show what a driver can do. Im too young to remember the Senna years When it comes to skill I can’t help but admire these nutters. It’s the age old sporting comparison arguments though, you can never compare eras.

    Headphones

All I can say is stay away from Stymeteczer of something like that. Mine sound like crap and cost way too much. EDIT:Sennheiser
  18. TBH no fancy pads are going to help you at Hampton, the only thing that will is moderate use of the brakes and decent fluid, OEM should so you well. I recommend going at 80% for say all laps bar one per session, this will not only save your brakes it will make you faster and help you enjoy the day for longer. Cheep quality Overalls. http://www.yakka.co.nz/
  19. Tell me about it, I see a few in Papakura. There is a guy that drives on to my gym every morning, diamond black. It’s quite ordinary looking in that colour.
  20. +1 . When he jumps in and then instantaneously rolls it down that ramp. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time, was excellent! Make the most of N/A Merc’s, they will all be Turbo in a couple of years
  21. Token E36 just yellowing it up like piss stain in the middle of your lounge. nice one!
  22. Ah winter. lets warm ourselves by the Bimmersport Forum. Talking about failing in work car parks, The sales manager at my missus work drove her Jeep CHEROKEE over a sales reps Subaru Legacy last Friday, apparently the car 200+ space car park was basically empty and she decided to park in-between the only two cars in the line. Quite a few thousand in damages there.
