I was reading, probably on R3V, that you can alter a potentiometer on the ECU to adjust the fuel for different locations. Not sure if true as haven't seen it in the Haynes but it probably does the same thing and if it was an actual "performance" modification you'd have heard of it a long time ago. Stick in the pile along with the turbonator

Motronic 1 has the 2 row pin array on the ECU Motronic 1.3 has the 3 row pin array on the ECU Is the same across the 2.5 and 2 engine systems. The early motronic doesn't have 02 or catalyst support.

My 2c but what people here are calling a m325i should be called a 325is. As Darryl sort of said the M should be saved for the proper "Motorsport" cars, ie, stuff that came out of the Motorsport factory. And just to clarify, don't confuse a 325is with a 318is or 320is as these are rare twin cam engines, the 320is being rarer then m3's E: Also, the true E28 M535 was a Motorsport built car with the same 3.5 engine that went in the M1, really should've been called the M5

Gotchya. All the 260 boxes have them including mine and from memory there were two holes in mine which I couldn't figure out at the time but obviously is for the flywheel sensors. I guess when you're trying to locate a box you can just ask whether it has the lugs.

As Damian said, use the search function or history function and looking through all the threads on performance and exhaust.Adding headers should be beneficial if the entire exhaust is freed up and the intake allowed to breath. Removing the cat will be beneficial. E: In all honesty though is it worh it? You're only looking at % gains, which, when dealing with a 318/320 isn't very much.

There's no guarantee that headers alone will give a performance gain. Rethink the entire exhaust system if the rest of it isn't already sorted out.

Did it to my car, replace cat with two coby resonators, 1 per pipe. Car revved faster Better response Exhaust noise louder

Curiously, how bad was it, not that it matters of course but like were you just over the limit (youth or adult) and didn't they just recently lower the adult limit from 400 to 350 or something like that? Amstel Light is the win if you need to drive.

why do so many ppl on the forum rate them highly then? They're designed for the english fuel so do not work with the NZ stuff which is true of most chips. We may have the save RON and MON as other places but massively different additives that change the fuel characteristics.I lost 10kW peak power and 20 newtons on the dyno using the wild chip which was noticeable just driving around. The mild chip was even worse. Was cool having a 7200 redline though

I need a motronic 1.3 chip for the ECU preferably from a 320i Doesn't have to be a stock chip but it does need to work BTW, don't bother with the E30zone chips, they don't work (tested) and Ant is a complete wanker

You'll have to rename the file to remove the .avi extension Ratios.xls.avi

If the koni's are adjustable sports (yellow) then the dampning can be adjusted to be firmer, assuming they're sports and not already set to firm, have a read on the koni website.

Personally I think this whole trying to be individual is conforming to an idea of individuality, you're no different to every other person trying to be individualistic, it's all been done before. I can't see how you think we all promote tints and sacking and whatever, if anything, what's been conveyed to me is the sense that we don't promote stupidity. Serious questions on this forum get serious answers latest example thread. Unless of course i've missed something whats happened is the bullshit posts have stopped as people stop to reflect on what has really gone wrong here.
