  1. Hey Cam, whereabouts in Auckland are you? I have got a few of the parts you are looking for, and will have the rear disc set-up available soon.
  2. Most postal or freight companies will be able to give you a price for an "LCL" = less than container load, so part of a container. Just be careful on the MAF requirements, wooden pallets have to be marked as being treated, etc. parts should be clean as possible, not dirt, grass, etc. on them. Any country that has its economy in the toilet at the moment is a good place to look, Greece, Italy, UK, plus lots of parts in Germany! Good excuse for a holiday in Europe - happy hunting.
  3. Yeah, that's the problem, worth 3 tenths of sweet FA if I transfer it over now. I have found it makes more sense to transfer the money by spending it on car parts in the UK and then shipping them to NZ to use here, a much better exchange rate that way!! Plus it's always very useful to have a few spare bank accounts around the world to tuck things away into. Will still need this account in the future when my pension(s) start paying out...
  4. Mind you there is also my UK bank account... month's worth of interest in a SAVINGS account, with over a thousand pounds in it.... 1 penny. Yup, thats right, one whole penny. I suppose I could move the money over to NZ to earn higher interest in an account here....
  5. Nice, a few quiet and understated mods to the M3 there. not sure how practical it would be as a daily road car though...?
  6. I think the rear is more of an issue with the Touring than the front, that is my view having followed the one that races in the BMW Series for a few laps. Not sure if the touring has a rear sway as standard...? I do believe that the sway bar from the sedan / coupe should fit in the touring, so that could be a good place to start. I have seen lots of good reviews on the IE saw bars, but I can't recall any being specifically in a Touring. If they have got a matched F/R pair for the T then that would be a good bet as I would suggest a lot of the benefit is in gettting the balance right between the two ends.
  7. Bank charges in general... One months interest on savings of thousands of dollars - $1,40 less tax, go a dollar overdrawn for six hours ovenight - $10 charge plus interest...
  8. Owner reckons it was done in Uk by Birds, then serviced "at the factory" then registered here as NZ New?
  9. The pricing has come down, but still unrealistic for what it is, a molested, non-original Evo I with a sketchy history and no ealry documentation to back it up. Even if it is in good condition. The silly comment about it appreciating by $2,500 a month has also been removed, proabably wasn't prepared to guarantee it to the buyer.
  10. Sounds like the start of a very good joke..
  11. What is worse? Well how about the red MR2S that I saw on the motorway that had replaced the badges with... wait for it.... the Ferrari horse logos (printed vinyl not the square 3D badges. now that really, really is pushing your luck. I wonder if anyone has ever been fooled into thinking it is and actual Ferrari? NZ created a bit of a local anomally by putting the ///M badge in front of the 325i on the "M325i" version of the 325i with M-Sport that was sold here back in the E30 days, and this trend was continued on M-Sport cars up until a few years back with dealers being supplied with an ///M badge to go on the back.
  12. Upload is now fixed, so should be able to add some pics?
  13. In all honesty, from looking at the photos and reading the description this car is a potential nightmare. If you are good with mechanics or have friends that can do things mates rates, then negotiate hard on the price and go for it, if not steer clear especially for a daily I see unreliability everywhere. Too many signs that the car has been fiddled about with, and then not maintained / sorted thoroughly. A ticking time bomb for any new owner.
  14. Good question! Yes, this is the lane deviation part of the system that activates on multi-lane roads, my example was on the motorway. in terms of your example, short answer I don't know sorry. The collision avoidance would brake at some point, but I would like to think it has the "intelligence" to realise what you're trying to do and allow the swerve.
  15. What an engine / car to be working on, I would be almost too scared to touch it in case I screwed up!! I don't believe they ever actually knew what the power output was for the "qualifying" spec engines as they went off the dial on the dyno, so it is usually referred to as "over 1,400" or something as that's where the gauge ended. Not sure they need a clean room if they are sticking to the original processes of leaving the blocks outside and pissing on them..?
  16. First impressions after driving the 530d model.. Positives, drives like a 5 Series should, very comfortable cruiser now with the benefit of the adaptive damper control can be changed and pushed harder in Sports mode and it sticks. Interior quality and technology huge step forwards, too much to take in for just one drive. So quiet, even with the diesel motor, and plenty of grunt. Only down side - hard to tell apart visually from the latest 7 Series! Not sure if this a bad thing, maybe for the 7 Series owners it is? Being a typical BMW driver I don't always indicate, and when pulling back left on the motorway, as I hadn't indicated the car physically steered me back into the right lane which was a little bit unnerving as it took me surprised. Once I realised what was going on, and why it was doing it, I was happier! Sure it will sell by the truck load in Europe and the US, but it will be interesting to see how many find homes in NZ due to our love affair with the X5 and SUVs.
  17. Pretty sure those trims are still made from metal, so more a panel beater task I would suggest.
  18. Ahh, cool, thanks for enlightening me. I've never come across one of those but then the E6x has never been on my radar in any shape or form. I've spent too much of my life driving for / to / from work. Even when it is a company car and all paid for, it is a big chunk of your life. Better these days in that you can work whilst in the car, but certainly wouldn't want to consider a long commute, time wise, every day. With the technology available there is little or no reason why you can't work at least part of the week from home with the majority of jobs.
  19. You won't be able to get it from Jeff Gray, They don't exist anymore, new owners now. But yeah, new part would be expensive. Try and fix it first.
  20. Are there? I'm struggling to think of any. Back on topic. I live 12kms from workplace, just over half hour into work on an average day, closer to 40mins on way home. Chose our home on a balance of time to work / schools / price. Luckily I don't work in CBD so can avoid motorways and worst of prices.
  21. If you are looking for an E30 325i sedan in reasonable condition with no issues, probably in the $5k - $7k range. A couple in the same condition would be a bit more probabty the $6k - $8k region. That is why I question the pricing on the 325i "race car" on TradeMe, I can't see the added value. As Olaf says, an E36 would be a cheaper option, but then, well it is an E36.
  22. You wouldn't happen to have the E36 M3 Evo front spindles would you.? That you want to sell...?
  23. It's only $3k more than the 325i you posted and is a much better bet for a week-end car. that 325i has been up for sale a loong time. It's too stripped for a road car but not caged for a race car. look after that 328i and it will go up in value, the only way the 325 will be worth more is to Spend big$$$ on it.
