  1. Yup, she’s not a full noise M325i so I would put that price at the hopeful end of the spectrum.
  2. Very under-rated cars imho. If you are doing a lot of kms, especially open road with a decent load of gear onboard then that is where a diesel comes into its own in terms of economy.
  3. Please let’s not turn another thread into an argument about electric cars. 🙏 There are plenty of specific threads on the topic already. Apologies as i am partly to blame with my hipsters comments.
  4. Ordering new genuine parts for your 35 year old classic car and not only are they still available, but also in stock and they arrive on your desk next day.
  5. I wouldn’t bet on it, it will take more than the sun coming out to change the current car market, and economy in general. Plus all the hipsters are buying Teslas to “save” the planet.
  6. They won’t fix them, well not properly anyway, but there will be roadworks for Africa all summer while the throw a handful of rocks and some chip over the worst of the holes.
  7. That’s the only thing with Pukekohe, it’s history, and unfortunately it has been under invested for many many years. Take away all the temporary tents, stands and facilities from the Supercars and what is left is pretty poor. Not the best spectator track, with only certain small sections visible from each vantage point, with the back straight and hairpin (the best bits) only visible if you are a long way from everything else. Great track to race on, if you don’t scare yourself at least once on each lap then you are not pushing hard enough! With the Horse Racing Club being the landlord and the motor racing circuit the tenant it was only going to end one way, and that writing has been on the wall since Hampton Downs opened.
  8. If you get up close and look at the exhaust, it normally has stamped into it “not for road use” or “for Motorsport use only” or similar.
  9. Of course!! The xDrive was coping really well (snow was getting quite a bit deeper, but no photos of that) until the man with the Ute and the radio stopped us and made us go back!! 😁
  10. When SH5 is shut, some idiot tried the Gentle Annies instead, and ignored the road closed signs in an M850i 🤣
  11. Baby M3? Someone’s getting their E30 318iS confused with an E36 318iS.
  12. Very true, but there is some absolute cock in a VW GTi around Howick that spends hours driving around going “brmmm, pop, bang, bang, bang, brmmm, pop, bang, bang, bang” at all hours of the day.
  13. Just expanded on that for you.
  14. To the average car buying public all X3s would be the same, but to the BMW cognoscenti the number of similar cars is much less. Six to be exact, if you are looking for an LCI NZ new. You’ve got to pitch your sale to those that appreciate the subtle differences, rather than drop your price for someone who knows no different.
  15. Bit of a mixed day of it today. Morning spent wrestling with the wife’s mighty 116d for a service. Went pretty bad, more oil on driveway and me than in the drain pan 🤦‍♂️ and oil filter housing is in a prick of a place. Afternoon cruise out to the beach in the ‘vert, top down enjoying the sun. Can’t decide if it’s the last cruise of last summer or first cruise of the new one? Now up on axle stands for a bit more TLC before going in for a new warrant.
  16. E30 M3 tax is still strong... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/engines/listing/3741470813 That's more than I paid for my whole S14 engine, dog-leg gearbox and ancilliaries! Having seen complete engines up for sale at US$25k I am sorely tempted... but then I will never be in a position to afford to get another one. Soo many other engines that give much better bang for buck... but S14 tho'
  17. Depends what cars the parts for, older stuff is still only going one way.
  18. @Wyv I know that Takapuna Panelbeaters on the shore have converted a number of M2s into race cars recently, they might have some spare seats.
  19. The articles of association (?) should include the information about how the organisation is governed. Including details of AGMs, etc. There is the ability to vote by proxy in the AKL region, is that option not offered in Wellington?
  20. Seems to be quite prevalent in organisations in the Wellington region.
  21. Correct, the sh*t fuel standards for NZ still mean we don’t get the new stuff. 99% of the fuel supplied is fine, but the fact that the suppliers could bring in a batch of crap stuff means there’s a risk.
  22. I see plenty of E30s, E34s, E39s, E46s in for service work in the franchise dealerships. Even a couple of 2002s. All of which I think would count as “old cars”. However, these have all been pretty mint and valuable examples. I would suggest the issue is more that the average owner of a $3k E34 is not going to consider taking their car to a main dealer for service work, even though it may not be much more expensive than independent.
  23. Depends on how the whole deal is stacked, trade in is only one part of the transaction. Funny how many people focus solely on the price of their trade and forget about all the other factors in the deal. What are you buying? What price are you paying? Finance rate? Deposit contribution? Outstanding finance? Orc? CCD? Warranty? Etc, etc, etc… Unless the dealer you are buying from likes taking a huge risk on an old expensive to fix BMW they are only going to wholesale it off to someone so there’s no money in the trade for them, so it would most likely be of benefit to you to sell privately and not include it in deal for the other car.
  24. Seller is definitely trying to play it down, but a little off not to mention clearly from the outset.
