  1. Yup, I was just going to say that. It’s a manufacturers rating not a legal limit. I think the rule is something silly like as along as you can stop from 50km/h in 30 metres it’s all good. Seen towing vehicles driving along pointing at the sky because the tongue load is so high from the boat / trailer / caravan being badly loaded.
  2. Whilst in some situations an increase in towing capacity would give an increased nose / tongue load that is not always the case. What I have been lead to believe is that the option code 233 beefs up certain parts of he car, mostly around the braking and cooling systems to allow for the extra work pulling and stopping another 800kg. However, as there is no change to the tow-bar design and the suspension and weight distribution with the addition of 233 there is no change to the tongue / nose rating.
  3. The increased towing option code only changes the max towed weight from 2700kg to 3500kg braked. It doesn’t change the trailer nose weight. Probably due to the folding tow bar design, and German engineering caution, the nose weight is not particularly high. The Aussie style box hitch design does give a much higher value.
  4. Info lists the trailer nose weight which I believe is the same measure, as 170kg across all models of F15 X5 with the factory tow bar, 3AC. However, this does vary a bit depending on the build date, some are down to 140kg.
  5. Having spent quite a bit of time on the highways and byways of this great country over recent weeks, I have become aware of new variants of f**ktards on the roads. Not only is the right hand lane the natural habitat of poor lane discipline, but now the centre lane seems to be a breeding ground for “centre lane cruisers” to pootle along at nowhere near the speed limit or indeed the speed of other traffic. Even being passed rapidly on both sides at once doesn’t seem to suggest to them to speed up or pull over. I have observed that some of this group are also members of the “womble on to the 100/110km/h road at 50-60km/h” club. The give way rules onto highways are clearly not applicable, and how some of them didn’t get cleaned up in the process was a miracle. Thinking about getting an old Land Cruiser or similar to use as an Urban Assault Vehicle rather than keep putting myself at risk avoiding these clowns.
  6. Is that for the pre-FL chrome bumper light?
  7. More like allowing the stupid to stay alive. There is also a button you can press to turn it all off if you really want to find out how much talent you have actually got.
  8. The new generation of small BMWs now gets the full set of safety and driver aids, which they didn’t before. That would add quite a bit to the weight I believe.
  9. Yeah, some interesting cars, and some “interesting” prices in that lot. Will be good to have some more info and pictures on a couple of them.
  10. Bloody awesome!! Would love to rent one of those for a trip around Italy.
  11. Very nice, and reasonable Price if it’s all straight and Not hiding anything.
  12. Love a wagon me, even in 5 series. Theyre everywhere In Europe, but dont seem to sell here as 99% of buyers end up going for the X5 instead.
  13. Lol, I know men only recognise five colours but that’s a long way from white. Even in the potato leaked photos you can see the blue, yfr. Hero cars and the promotional specs are mostly steered away from white as it doesn’t show the lines and surfaces at all well.
  14. That’s the new Zandvoort Blue colour, very light baby blue. Doesn’t do it any favours imho.
  15. @promo see above! Sounds like your pm inbox is full.
  16. Do you want them to race with, or just something to roll the E30 around in the shed? I have some 4x100s 15” I can let go for cheap, but they have funny centrebore sizing so wouldn’t recommend using them on track!
  17. The clips on the cover match up with the restraint hooks in the boot of the car to latch on and hold it down. If you get the right One for your car..
  18. Over $3k now, might have to cash up some of my E30 parts horde to finance this..
  19. Unfortunately There is no clear and exact definition, only the vague definitions of the CGA “merchantable quality” with a few automotive specifics are “known” and / or “faults”. The whole process of the disputes tribunal is a bit hit and miss, and more often than not sides with the buyer. I would suggest googling the Motor Disputes Tribunal NZ or similar to find some better definitions, examples and the process. Likely to be more accurate than the internets views on a forum.
  20. Interesting indeed, added to my watch list and I feel a roadie to the BoP coming up. I think I need to join the cool kids club sooner rather than later!
  21. Shamelessly stolen from another group… NZTA have just been rebranded and are no longer referred to as Waka Kotahi.. They are doing such a bad job on the roads the new name is now Whaka Kartaia !!
  22. Most definately, contact them straight away and politely explain the issue, and if needed casually drop the CGA into the conversation.
  23. Kick panels tend to get broken, when they drop down and catch on Your foot, glove box latches are prone to breaking - I no notice this one doesn’t have the latch! But the rest of it is pretty likely to be low demand. One man’s crap is another man’s treasure!
  24. $2000 shipped… but yeah probably not to NZ! To be honest re-trimmed full leather interior at US$2000 is pretty good buying. Try to find a set of seats and panels plus to get re-trimmed I would suggest you would be looking at well north of that price. There is still some good buying to be had on some E30 stuff overseas, if it’s something that is easy to ship.
