  1. That’s passed through quite a few sets of hands now. Still a very nice car though.
  2. That is a sweeping generalisation about a very large and broad government agency. Whilst I agree with what you have said in terms of the road maintenance aspect, there is a lot more to it than just that. There has been a recent external review of at least some aspects of NZTA, you will have seen a number of stories about WoF and HT certifiers losing their licenses, these came about as the result of the review. There are a number of very good people in the NZTA battling against many things (including Political interference and under-resourcing) to do “the right thing”.
  3. That is the estimated date of the ship arriving into PoA, as it has only just left and has a few more ports of call that can move back quite a few issues with ports atm. SLA is 4 days to get a car off ship and off wharf (can take a lot longer in busy periods) then transport to Welly, PDI, groom… So it’s not a quick process!
  4. I’d love to know what job you had in Muenchen to get those as your drive car, FLII or FLIII at a guess.?
  5. Can’t even spell manual properly… Yes, I got the e-mails from TradeMe all four of them!
  6. I think a couple of Auckland E30 owners took advantage of the situation to do a few skids… @Sammo Fingers crossed it didn’t end badly for any, there was certainly a lot of crazy sh*t going down here last night!
  7. Distance travelled has more effect on the wear than age, and 90k travelled is well in the range of use. Having seen how most people seem to drive on NZ roads, especially the Akl motorways, right up people’s arse on and off the brakes constantly it’s surprising they last more than five minutes. If this 4GC has the sports brakes (2NH blue callipers) then they do wear a bit quicker from the increased bite. Might also explain the higher than expected replacement costs.
  8. Do they have to tell you anything about what happened to the occupants in this type of scenario? There’s no way I would ever buy a car which someone had died in, or been critically injured in for that matter. That would be some seriously bad juju, even if it was just to salvage some parts.
  9. Good point! I don’t know is honest answer. If it doesn’t bolt up, sell this set up to buy The 6-cyl one..?
  10. Provided you can get it cheap enough (sub $1.5k) it could be a good contender for a project car. I would be ripping the 4-pot out and looking into putting either a 335i or 335d motor in there with a few goodies on, with a decent set for rims and some paint would be awesome. love a Bimmer touring me, and a manual touring is a good place to start.
  11. Yeah, last I saw him Gavin was off to Aussie to live so not around in NZ any more. You can buy pre-loaded ECU chips for M20 on eBay, it won’t be 100% for your set up but a Generic boosted M20 one might be close enough?
  12. Finally the planets aligned.. It’s a week-end. The sun is out. An excuse to drive the convertible. The convertible is all together, and legal. Went to pick up daughter from her work shift, and this time we made it back in one piece and didn’t break down at Sylvia Park! Winning!!
  13. Awesome! This is what Bimmersport is all about, Bimmer people helping other Bimmer people.
  14. If you read the article it states that a court had found against the seller personally previously, but he had been “unable” to pay the money, hence the attempt to get the money from the company instead. Ridiculous loophole.
  15. I was saying to the wife only the other day how much the E61 shape was growing on me, and then this appears on TM. Must be fate 🥳
  16. I don’t know the market value of those two models, and the pricing for these type of items does seem to be all over the place, but the E30 M3 Sport Evo is the same as the one I have and I paid heaps less than they are asking. We all know that classic car prices are going up though right?
  17. Lots of stories about Beacham as a dealership, as a business (grey import Jaguars and Land Rovers ex-UK) and the family (well known in Hawke’s Bay).
  18. Love a bit of bush mechanics at the side of track! And not a single computer in sight - happy days.
  19. Car got blanket bombed by a bird, from the size of the dropping it must have been the size of a bloody albatross! Hard to get a decent photo of the results with the reflections…. At least all the rain made it pretty soft and easy to wipe off!
  20. Could be a good excuse to change back to the original 325i exhaust system twin pipes, but would be $$$s. Easy fix with a bit of a grind out and a blob of weld.
  21. I believe so, looks like all PM92 models (which looks to be the LCI) were built with the 2MK Double Clutch Trans.
  22. Whilst the number of Competition Pack E90s (7MA option in NZ rather than the ZCP quoted in other markets I believe) was a bit higher than the 4 units, the answer Is still zero unfortunately.
  23. Seeing such a picture could go some way to explaining why the body kit looks a different colour to the rest of the car.
