  1. The wealth distribution in the UK is very different to NZ, especially London and the more exclusive areas of that city. There are lots of young (even under 25) Arab and Asian kids running family businesses and got-rich-quick Euros from the City. Even after the GFC things bounce back pretty quick. In my day they were nick-named "The flaming Lambourghinis" all early 20s all with various Supercars. Very Wolf On Wall Street! There are lots of specialist insurers that will cover anything - provided you pay enough in premiums. The big companies cherry pick all the safe customers and exclude the rest.
  2. Good idea! Then only rugby players who are in a game can wear rugby shirts, especially those hideous green warriors things, followed quickly by polyester football shirts being banned on all middle aged men and small boys.
  3. Not sure about reliability, but the engine in the E90 320i is not BMW's best effort in terms of performance. I think it is strangled a bit in order to meet emissions rules. As a result I have always found the 20i a little sluggish and needing a good bootfull to get going. Pretty sure you would see a big difference with the 323i being a de-tuned 2.5ltr and not too much worse in terms of fuel consumption in real-world use.
  4. There has been a collaboration between BMW and Puma for a number of years, they have produced the BMW Motorsport trainers between them and there are 4 or five styles in total. http://www.shopbmwusa.com/LIFESTYLE/BMW-COLLECTIONS/BMW-MOTORSPORT In addition there is a whole BMW Athletics range which has a number of good running shoes in it amongst other things. You'd be amazed what there is in the catalogue... Surprised they have ended up being available in Rebel Sport though.
  5. After clicking the upload button I get this selection box.. I don't seem to have the option to create a new album to put stuff in so can't get any further.
  6. Is the M325i the same as a UK 325i Sport in that it has different ratios in the gearbox, ie a close ratio box? If the 4.1 LSD is medium case I will be very interested when it becomes available.

  8. Another $1 no reserve one gone up on TradeMe... http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-712570357.htm
  9. Authority Card is a version of a cert to cover a limited number of Motorsport items only - cages, seats, harnesses, etc. Can cover full or half cage on a Auth Card, but it will need to be homologated by MSNZ. You will also need to run a log book and get it stamped at 2 events per year to keep it current.
  10. Yes, they got a lot of interest in the LIFE car concept but so far they have not managed to get it into full production. Factory must have improved a bit as they are now making more than the 9 cars per week which was the figure for many decades!
  11. M20b25 is 171bhp from factory. You would need to do quite a bit to get that over 200. Headers and exhaust would be quite high up my list as they limit the breathing of the engine.
  12. That thing is butt ugly. 4.4ltr could be an M5 engine, but only if it were a few years younger and had a couple of turbos strapped on the top of it. However, if you had that kind of power in that thing it would pull it apart in seconds. Never understood the thing with Morgans, not good to drive (horrible wobbly wood chassis that does all sorts of funny things when you try and push it) over priced, out-dated and a ridiculously long waiting list because their production methods were so badly designed!! I'd rather a high-powered Westfield or Caterham for a better drive for much less money.
  13. Couldn't make a 5 GT look any worse.. Hope she pays up - you've done her a favour!
  14. Most trailer places these days have the switchable tow coupling, so suit both sizes - so you should be OK with the 50mm And anyway the size doesn't matter apparently...
  15. Now the site is on this new fandangled server, is the gallery function able to be used?? Any ideas how to use it?
  16. Yes, I think you're right, 3.2ltr with the 6-speed box. Nowhere near as good a condition as this car.
  17. Still there this morning, just over $2k now https://touch.trademe.co.nz/listing/view/709320659 What did you trade it in for Nigel?
  18. Not sure if there is any interest on here, but thought I would put these out there before the hassles and fees of TradeMe or eBay... All mint, never been out of boxes, certificates, outer boxes, etc. 2005 Bathurst Winner HRT Tander/Kelly $650 2006 Bathurst Winner Betta Electrical Lowndes/Whincup $600 2007 Bathurst Winner Vodafone Lowndes/Whincup $550 2008 Bathurst Winner Vodafone Lowndes/Whincup $500 Only selling as I need the cash to finish my E30 race car. Will be having clear out of E30 spares soon as well if there is anything you are looking for keep your eyes posted.
  19. You forgot to put the punctuation at the end.. VB mate See..
  20. I bet the idea of a "contract" is looking very appealing right about now...
  21. If it's a diesel then it's practically a farm vehicle, so a tow bar is compulsory ? Not so much on a ti Compact. There is also another world of fail in the photo - have a closer look up on the roof!
  22. I guess there are lots of things you can do with shocks / springs sub-frames, etc. but I thought the E21 chassis is the limiting factor? Although knowing you and Ray there will be a few plans in mind already.
  23. Cool project, but I have to say you are brave if you are going to give an E21 that kind of power! Even the standard 323i had a tendency to fly off the road when pushed, let alone with all those extra horses trying to get out.
