  1. Not a bad little tinny for fishing. Biggest thing to happen in Foxton Beach since forever.
  2. Pretty sure that is the Shell produced oil, packaged for BMW. As to whether it is the same as another Shell product in a different bottle... that is a whole nother thread!! Fun fact.. the Shell oil used is actually manufactured from natural gas!
  3. Tbh, the service / warranty advisors are stuck in the middle, it all comes down to whether the factory approves the work as being covered by warranty. There are always grey areas with this, and dealers have very little room to move in terms of “good will”. In such cases it will often come down to how good a relationship you have with the dealership.
  4. No confusion at all, quite simple really, BMW Group uses Shell oil for the factory first fill, and recommends owners (and dealerships) also use Shell. However, as most dealerships are seperate businesses to BMW Group, it cannot be mandated what they use. Each dealership has its own seperate supply agreement for oil, provided they use products which meet BMW Group standards, ie are approved products, so can be Castrol or Shell, or possibly even others. None of the oil is supplied by BMW NZ, it is supplied by the local distributors for whichever brand the dealer chooses to use.
  5. What brand are the tyres and how old are they?
  6. So if some random comes on here and posts "yeah, Joe Bloggs garage will do that for you, no problems. Warranty will still be sweet mate." You'd take your car to them and then expect your factory warranty to be honoured, just because they said so..? Strange. I think you mentioned on another thread that you were leasing the car, would the lease agreement have any conditions around 'modifying" the vehicle?
  7. Which make and version of the Alpha N are you using? DId you get it tuned on a dyno once you got it fitted, and if so who did the tuning for you?
  8. How small are the grilles on that...
  9. What, and kill the planet with all that extra CO2...!! Think of the children.
  10. There are lots of CF replicas available for track cars, so a genuine DTM one would only really be worth more to go on a genuine DTM car or a money no object replica. Pretty easy to fit onto the car, then just a piggy-back ECU to run something like Alpha-N management in place of the AFM. Would be a cool piece of wall art...
  11. Conrad at M3Motorsport would be the best person to ask. I understand they were all made by the same German composites company, die Wethje (could be Dutch?) and are a single piece, not glued together.
  12. Interesting, I wonder what they are using for the engine / transmission management systems without connections to all the associated BMW sensors and systems. The Supra clearly has ALL of the BMW systems, where this Morgan looks to have very few extra electronics (from what you can see in the video) hooked up to make it all tick. A "crate" B48B30O engine and ZF 8-speed combination with a stand-alone management system would be very interesting from a kit-car / race car / E30 repower point of view. Yes, I know some very clever people can do all sorts of magic with electonics gubbins and programming the standard BMW ECU but for those of that are more suited to working with hammers and spanners that would remove a lot of that headache to get it up and running.
  13. NZD$120k = GBP 60,600 = USD$80,200 at today's exchange rates. So purchasing power of approx GBP 50k and USD$69k if my rough maths is correct, taking back GST and shipping costs. Interesting what you can buy in those markets for that kind of money.
  14. I counted four there, three genuine and one replica. One of the genuine cars was for sale - tastefully modified car so it's very hard to put a price on it. I have known the owner and car for a number of years, so I didn't even bother asking his price, as 1) I couldn't afford it and 2) it's far too nice a car to turn into a racer.
  15. How much, and what type of driving do you do as your daily run? E92 M3 is a great car, and can be easily switched from not-too-uncomfortable daily driver to a beast at the touch of an M button. However, if you do a lot of Km especially in traffic then the petrol costs could be quite daunting.
  16. It all depends what you call "good money" thanks to the sky high prices on E30 M3s right now they are a worldwide commodity, and many cars are moving country to country. Unfortunately the very best E30 M3 and another very, very good one have both been sold to overseas buyers recently. TradeMe is not really where a serious E30 M3 seller would be looking to advertise their car, as you say there are very few people in NZ that are prepared to pay that kind of money for a classic car. Although this proposed Capital Gains Tax that excludes classic cars may soon change that! Other much larger markets overseas have a shortage of good cars and there are many more well healed buyers there.
  17. Yeah, with all the new models coming through in the near future it is definitely Elvis time!!
  18. Needs a price please as per forum rules.
  19. Now the G20 is about to launch I will get my A into G and update this list!! Promise!
  20. Just been to check the current draw on the charger hooked-up to my drive car which is currently having a software upgrade for a couple of modules. Has been drawing betwen 17.3A - 17.5A for the last ten minutes, at just over 14V. That was after an initial spike of over 20A. I didn't think to take my phone with me to take a photo of the read out, but can do if you want. Things to bear in mind - this is only a quick programming update, not a full car reprogramme so draws a lot less current (as I understand it from the techies that do this more often than me). Plus 20A rating for constant 17A is not a lot of head-room for spikes and peaks.
  21. I know Geoff in Wellington used to bring a few of these into NZ. @FIAT 131R on here. He mIght have one kicking around somewhere.
  22. Have a good google and you’ll probably find a pdf of the owners manual, only needs to be the English version, no specific NZ version. In terms of NZ nav and Bluetooth you are in Auckland so Euro Surgeon would be a good option for you.
  23. Ray @HellBM used to have them in stock, might still have one rattling around?
  24. Shuey, list of features for competition pack on your car is.. 19" M Light Alloy Wheels Y-Spoke Style 359 (or alternatives) EDC with new sport mode DSC with special setup for drive dynamics optimisation. The M button(s) are under the 2MD option that Ray has listed above.
