  1. Hello and welcome to Bimmersport. True there have been a few more examples come on to the market in recent months to ride the price wave. Haven't seen any sitting for too long though, with the exception of the dubious car in the USA. Many have sold without coming to the open market, including the black one now gone from NZ. Yes there are possibly better "bang for buck" cars out there for driving, but do they have the same rarity / history / collectibility of the M3 SE3? In some ways it is a shame they have become the possessions of investors and collectors rather than drivers and enthusiasts. That is the downside of being such an icon.
  2. depending on which exchange rates you are working off the price is a little below the international market for LHD examples in similar condition and mileage. E30 tax applies 10 fold on M3s and about 20 fold for the Evo3. The conversion would certainly have a negative effect, but it is still a genuine Evo3 and fairly easy to swap back to LHD if you can track down the parts. Fingers crossed it will stay in NZ and not go overseas as we have lost one glorious Evo3 recently already.
  3. There is already one, the 2 Series Grand Tourer, F46, its just not offered for sale in NZ currently. Although strictly speaking it only adds two seats in the third row, not the three you ask for.
  4. (Official Corporate hat on) The X7 will be larger than the current X5 and will sit at the top of the X-Range, as such it's natural competitors are the Mercedes GLS and the Range Rover so think of things in that size bracket, not the R-Class people mover. This is a big segment of the market that BMW have been missing out on by not having a model this size, competitors have big sales numbers in many markets around the world, such cars seem very popular in Russia surprisingly...
  5. Ah, but is it an International quality track? it's not an accurate test if not and I won't bother watching in that case.
  6. Paint'n'Paper Superstore in Palmy used to do all my personal and trade colour matching - were very good. Did spray cans, pens and pots.
  7. Those wheels tho'...
  8. Seems to be... VIN ZBADC88030BF92279 Type code DC88 Type 535 I A (EUR) E series E28 () Series 5 Type LIM Steering RL Doors 4 Engine M30 Displacement 3.50 Power 0 Drive HECK Transmission AUT Colour ( *) Upholstery ( *) Prod.date 1990-08-20
  9. I think you are confusing the chassis number (last 7 digits of the VIN) and the full VIN number. An NZTA issued VIN plate, as in the picture, will have a different code on it to the orginal BMW VIN and chassis. There is no point typing the last 7 of the NZTA number into a BMW VIN decoder as it will give you the incorrect information. A BMW VIN will always start with WBAxxxx for a cooking version or WBSxxx for the M cars. Find the number that start with those, then use the last 7 of that number, not the local NZTA number.
  10. People on TradeMe don't get it when I ask if their car is the Spanish version.. so many list them as being "Manuel"!!
  11. The numbers on that site are purely the cars whose owners have bothered to give up their information and "register" with that site. It doesn't even fully cover the number of cars still in existence for each model, I would suggest more owners haven't bothered than have, certainly for the E30 M3 from recent discussions on specialst forums. But, yeah, build numbers are much lower for E30 M3, 17,870 total IIRC, including the 270 motorsport shells and the cabrios. Whereas the E36 would be into six figures across all three versions and two generations. Values are influenced by the rarity, but the E30 M3 was an Iconic road car and racer, the E36 not so much..
  12. Just re-read the advert and noticed it's from Hawera, so my previous comment was wrong - it's actually very clean.. for Hawera!! and just because the buttons are on the steering wheel doesn't mean it's got "all the gear" for cruise control.
  13. Would you not wash and wax your car before taking photos to sell it? Alloys are covered in brake dust and the whole car looks drab because they can't be arsed to rub a sponge over it.
  14. Yup. every single BMW car model with a petrol engine now has a snail attached, no more NA engines in the range. Not for performance reasons, but again due to the restrictive emissions and fuel consumption regulations.
  15. Very rare something(s) like these happen, not one but two "choice" moments in one long week-end. Firstly fitting new appliances in the kitchen I was very happy to find that the previous installer had done the jobs properly and everything was up to scratch and above-board, not dodgy lash-ups that needed to be removed and start again. Plus all the connections lined up exactly from the old units to the new, so install was a very simple remove and replace. Second thing, bought a Johnny Cash LP in the JB Hifi sale, one of six in the "American Records" series, when I activated the digital download code I not only got a copy of the albumn I had bought, but also the other five in the series, an excellent piece of luck. Lots of new listening to be done.
  16. You've put up a price and a picture with the link, so that's fine in the For Sale section. Nice car, GLWS!
  17. Do you know where the 330d is going to be sold? Mannheim maybe.

    E30 coupe

You would most likely get more for it selling the bits seperately, but then it's more hassle dealing with more buyers and probably take a while longer. A "package deal" has pros and cons for both sides. GLWS, let us know how much it ends up selling for!

    E30 coupe

As it is listed you are looking at around $500 - $1000 depending on exactly what parts come with it. If it is completely solid, no surface rust, no dings, good paint, etc then a few hundreds on top of that. Live rego is worth a couple of hundred as saves re-reg process if good enough to be a road car, not if it is only good for a race car base. Engine bay minus engine - is it also minus steering column and rack, loom, brake booster / brake lines, heater box, fuse box, exhaust, etc, etc.. lots of expensive bits in the engine bay besides the engine. One man's rolling shell is very different to another unfortunately, the more clarity the better, and the more likely to get top $$ as less assumptions need to be made.
  20. I've got a set of motors and wipers I can let go, not sure about "squirter rings" I've got the jets that push through the plastic grilles and a few other bits and pieces.

    E30 coupe

I know the E30 tax is on the rise, and this is a coupe, but unless I'm missing something I can't see that kind of value here. Maybe list more of the work done and what's included, rebuilt suspension maybe? Diff? Interior pics?? Engine bay??
  22. Pics of M8 in camo. Personally I love the fact that BMW are putting out more official photos of the cars in the camo and promoting the new vehicles before the official launch date.
  23. The regional president said that the new X3, due at the end of this year is the last of the current "design language" generation, the new models coming after that will have a new, more radical design language so expect more design cues from the new X2 than from the current model line up. Will have to wait and see in terms of the engine line-up, the V12 is possible if an M860i is entered into the line up, but that is unlikely as there is usually not a petrol engined M Performance offering and a full M in the same series, there rules are always changing though so you never know!!
