FS: Parting My E28 M30B35, Getrag 265, Mtech Seats etc
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to M M's topic in For Sale
If you can please put a price for the whole vehicle, whilst you have put prices against the parts if seperated there is no price for the whole car which technically there probably should be as per forum rules. -
I have a Westfalia wiring kit for an E46 tow plug, brand new in box, never fitted, wires into the PDC, etc. properly. Let me know if that is of any help.

Do what the Russian truckies do and light a fire under the fuel tank before starting up in the morning. Not sure it works so well with petrol though... I hope the cold didn't affect your Christmas Dan.

Mid and large size X range are assembled in 'Murica, but the engineering is still based in Germany. Many of the parts are produced outside U.S. As well, not sure about the specifics of door handles in old X5s as well.

New Plymouth - where to live? (And where not to?)
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to gjm's topic in Off-Topic
Lots of worse places in the world to live. Realistic house prices, and much more space are a big plus. I can't say about specific areas, but the region is pretty good. Some sound bimmersporters down that way too! -
Welcome to the site, a few good guys from here down in the 'naki. Quality over quantity! Nice car too!

They come up on eBay in the Uk quite often second hand, shipping shouldn't be too bad. I've never seen a "reproduction" version of these centres, although I wonder if one of the centres for the BBS rep wheels would work with genuine weaves?

Electric cars emit 50% less greenhouse gas than diesel, study finds

Just because a Tesla, or some Tesla's, accelerate fast doesn't give them a "soul or character" unless that character is an overgrown iPad that moves. -
Glorious sunny day, and the roof is up.. why by a convertible and not drive it with the top down? strange.

That is true, but you are talking about the situation today, not where we could be with developments in future technologies. Part of the whole Hydrogen fuel-cell is the generation of the hydrogen and then how to distribute and store it in a safe a sustainable way. The last info I read was explaining the process of generating the hydrogen from sea water, without the need for lots of electricity to do so, and there is plenty of that around and it is regenerated when it comes out the other end I think. so completely sustainable. -

I believe it was for negative gains when measured in real world application. The weight of all the batteries and gubbins needed more fuel to lug around than was saved by driving in "electric" mode for 3 minutes before you ran out of charge!! -

Only if it's the later Plug-in Hybrid or even fully electric version of the Prius, the early "Hybrid" versions that don't plug in but charge of the engine / regenerative braking are the worst of all worlds and just a green wash marketing hype. -
Not necessarily, still useful for anyone that races their E30.

Any paperwork to certify the welds so they can be put on a Cert plate?
-
Have you tried Gavin at Euro-Italian? Failing that the main dealer should be able to get them in before Christmas.
-
Speak to George Stocks, they have all the parts and equipment to convert your front struts over to coilover set-up. Not sure about Yellowspeeds but most brands still need the sleeve to be welded onto the original strut.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a set of these knocking around at P & S Autocentre.

It would be pretty old technology if it was a diesel and it WASN'T direct injection, I think the old IDI engines died out in everything apart from tractors in about 1990! Nowhere near efficient enough to meet the later emissions standards. And come to think about it even IDI engines still injected into the cylinder head AFTER the inlet, just into a seperate smaller chamber to start the iginition, so that would stil be a direct injection under the newer definition. Harder to clean yes, but not impossible.

Yes, it is all related to your post count. When you hit certain numbers you will go up a gear "automatically" - does that make it an auto gearbox..??

Yes such a model does exist, was a South African build for the SA market during the days of apartheid restrictions. They were able to do some very cool sh*t with their models. Added quite a few "go faster" bits to the M Tech II 325i to come up with a fantastic little car, not many built either and have become quite collectable now. Definately a very nice car, and in very good condition from the photos, but that price is well up there, into E30 M3 money. I know which one I would buy and which one will probably increase in value the most.
