the 3 small bolts at the bottom dont line up between the m50 and m20 type boxes , but otherwise ok

the 2L engine doesn't really develop power untill its high up in the revs . quite a peaky engine. if you leave the auto in ecno mode it will start off in 2nd gear . but if you put it in sport mode it will start off in 1st gear, but wont let it go into 5th gear when on the motorway etc. also if the auto trans or torque convertor is tied/worn needed trans flush etc it can make it even more sluggish . also is it a jap import or nz new car . nz new cars have the better ZF box , jap cars have teh jatco type and thye just dont feel as snappy

could be other things like cam sensor , have you had it checked /scanned etc??what about the psark plugs , air filter , fuel filter etc . the 320i arnt that fast anyway is it auto or manual , do you start it off in sport mode , if not it will start off in 2nd gear

the green could be a converted left hand drive car or worse a re bodied m3 running gear. would look carefully around the chasis number plates etc chasis number EW36968 WBSBG91000EW36968 http://bmwfans.info/vin/decoder/?decode=EW36968 should have arm rest etc (they are a lhd or rhd part) i wonder what they did with the steering rack e35 325i type and headers etc??

intermitant faulty boot lock actuator?? disconect it and try to lock the car

ok , took the car in today for a remap after fitting the miller maf unit . came up to 182rwkw ,10rwkw over previous time with a std afm unit. had a few issues with pinging , due to we think low fuel flow (old worn fuel pump??) and wrong fuel pressure reg fitted 2.5bar instead of 3bar etc. also need to do a few other things and checks. like get the injectors cleaned serviced or replaced etc. get rid of the inline fuel dampers , check intank pump filter , check/replace fuel filter etc. fit a wire mesh in front of the maf unit to straighten out the air flow. then back for a proper tune.

yes but is it a ZF brand 5HP** from a 2L m50 engine with the correct plug and number of pins and correct driveshaft flange

just swap it out for another good second hand engine. easy enough to do. just use all your electrics and fit with new coolant system parts and check or rpelace soem of the rubber gasgets etc. not really worth rebuilding too many hours worth of larbour. and the bores most likly to be stuffed

i would say a air leak in one of the hoses underneth the manifold , or bearing/pully etc

mounted the maf unit up today modified the wiring to the afm , fitted the miler maf ecu chip. starts and runs , makes big sucky sound now. off the gavins in the morning to tune it up.

maybe faulty wiper module , I sell a few of these

ok thanks let me know yes i had a set i sodl recently too from my wifes wagon.

open the boot , apply 12volts to the boot light . open the doors with the key or conect jump lead to the positive terminal on the starter motir from underneth or use the left door lock , hold and turn system , its tricky but it does work . unless you have the dead lock system on.
