yes tricky to do with the manifold on , but pretty easy to get the manifold off.

old car now , just replace all the arms , thrust arm bushes will be the first thing i would look at. get it up on a hoist at a garage and get them to test each bush and ball joint for movement . you can buy a complete front end kit from ebay , all the suspension and steering arms in one go . then it will drive like new. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E34-525...=item35adf444db

yes e23 735i e28 535i and e24 635csi m30 engines all the same , excpet in OZ they will normally have the low compression usa spec'd engine 8:1cr 184hp (not good) as in nz , south africa and european and uk etc have the full fat version with 218hp 10:1cr etc. early m30 3.5L engines are sleightly different from 1978 to 1982 etc , but the 1983 onwards are the ones to get if you have to you could use a e34 535i or e32 735i engine but they are 211hp 9;1cr and require some mods to the engine mounts etc

turn the dsp off for starters , make sure you have the loud button is on and bass and trebble set correctly. maybe that amp is faulty , they do give trouble some times. also the woofers have a foam surrounds which crubble and fall apart with age , lift the grills up and have a look , i have replacement speakers if needed.

coupe or sedan?? as they are different . most old ones are crap .

have a complete engine and gearbox kit fro sale from a e36 328i 96 can sell engine or gearbox kit seperately . but it you want to convert a e36 320i 318i 318is 318ti etc to 328i 5spd ./ or maybe a e30 or e34 e28 etc . $3k for the engine and box kit . sample pictures call for more details 021433600 also other parts from this car . 96 sedan , black leather , 16" m/s alloys etc etc panels doors , lights etc etc

looks COOL . but you will have buggered lower front chasis rails and front bumper in the next 6mths

if its a getrag from a e36 or e46 318i 316i 320i 323i 325i 318ti 318is it will work fine .they all are the same , just bmw keep changing part numbers etc
