  1. $3k to 4k for a replacement engine plus fitting . car has been overheated at some stage ,probably due to some small plastic part failing and losing coolant and know one looking at the gauge etc. maybe they have just put some radaitor stop leak stuff in it to stop it from losing coolant. i think if you can get it for $5-6k and are prepaired to throw plenty of cash at it. beacuse if they remove the head and find it needs more than just a headgasget then you could be in for quite a few more dollars. like most other guys said better to find one that doesn't need all this work unless your handy with tools and have a spare parts car etc.
  2. or you could try the e34 v8 brake system with the hydrolic boosted brake system , very slim unit .

  9. old car now , just replace all the arms , thrust arm bushes will be the first thing i would look at. get it up on a hoist at a garage and get them to test each bush and ball joint for movement . you can buy a complete front end kit from ebay , all the suspension and steering arms in one go . then it will drive like new. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E34-525...=item35adf444db
  10. yes e23 735i e28 535i and e24 635csi m30 engines all the same , excpet in OZ they will normally have the low compression usa spec'd engine 8:1cr 184hp (not good) as in nz , south africa and european and uk etc have the full fat version with 218hp 10:1cr etc. early m30 3.5L engines are sleightly different from 1978 to 1982 etc , but the 1983 onwards are the ones to get if you have to you could use a e34 535i or e32 735i engine but they are 211hp 9;1cr and require some mods to the engine mounts etc
