yes i have done 2 now my e36 92 325i and 96 328i . i just used a earlier m20 flywheel they are lighter and dont need to have any machining(except for the clutch face etc) about 6.5- 7.5kg intead of the later 1988 onwards e30 325i ,e34 525i 10kg ones. and i just used a m20 starter and a fairly std m20 325i clutch kit from "auto clutch in morningside" with a bit more clamping pressure added to the pressure plate. new clutch disc and release bearing cost about $300-350 etc no problems so far .

there are 2 bolts the hold the covers on which are under 2 plastic caps. then they should just lift off (maybe sleightly stuck if not removed for a long time, sticky rubber seal) sounds like your fuel pump could be at fault , my mates did that just the other week. try banging it to see if it comes to life , easy enough to left out and test it. then you have to undo the 2 or 4 bolts per coil to lift them off unplug them (sliding plug lever) then you can get at the plugs http://static.bmwfans.info/images/epc/MTUyNzAzX3A=.png http://static.bmwfans.info/images/epc/MTQ4Nl9w.png http://static.bmwfans.info/images/epc/MjMzN19w.png

intake manifold leak at the head?? on one or more cylinders . double check all the intake pipes for splits etc . check the fuel pressure reg is working (no fuel in the vac pipe that goes to it) make sure the dizzy cap and rotor are not too worn out. test the tps is working in idle position and fully open position , compression test , shoule be 140ibs or more per cylinder. but is some are 140 and some 180 etc , then that will cause bad running . get the mixture tested co and o2 readings , but make sure all other things have been tested/fixed first
