  1. yes there are 2 types used in a e30 325i early type which uses a metal shifter plate and then the later ones that used a ali shifter part. they mount up differently

  10. maybe its time to replace your thermostat so the engine comes up to temp quickly overwise its running on choke etc.also check the other things i mentioned . 8.6l per 100km is pretty good for one of those. i normally get around 11.5 to 12l per 100km for around use etc but can do around 8-9l per 100km on a trip

  12. does the engine come up to temp quickly?? like half gauge within say 5min?? is it running rough ( rough idle) or missing running on 5cylinders etc?? any black smoke from the exhaust . when was the air flilter changed , whats teh condition of the spark plugs etc . is there fule in the vaccuum line that contects to the fuel pressure reg , yes also check for fuel leaks. air flow meter falure?? engine temp sensor falure?? what sort of millage are you getting on a full tank??

  14. all these things can be intermotant fuel pump dying?? faulty ecu relay?? faulty fuel pump relay?? crank sensor?? alarm wiring?? need to find out when it dies , does it still have spark??? then start looking at fuel stuff . if no spark then the electric side , lie crank sensor and relays and power supply to the ecu etc

  17. all in my mates back yard he has had plenty of them.after this one goes he will be down to one and his dad owns one as well.
  18. listing on behalf of my friend a NZ NEW 1992 e34 525i touring calipso red metalic . goes well . clear coat on the paint is no good on the tops of the doors and gaurds and bonnet etc non sunroof model so no problems with leaks and jamming up etc has the better ZF trans in it not the jerky jatco type . drives smooth , changes gears well . 100km/h in top gear is 1900rpm very ecnomical . smooth non vanos 2.5l twincam m50 engine . high k's but all works fine , recent new water pump etc. wof nov and reg till jan 2012. 15" bbs 10 spoke alloys with good tyres. cloth interior some wear in front seats. has covers. later E39 type gearlever fitted. good relible car with lots of potenial . maybe 5spd manual , big wheels , lower it , bigger engine , turbo , v8 or v12 etc. call brendan 021829032 $3k ono goes to trade me in the next few days pictures here . click on the picture to enlarge it
  19. normally caused by the camshaft being worn down on one of the lobes due to lack of oil services or driven too slowly causing lack of oil pressure in the top of the motor. the camshaft lobe(s) will wear down and go a bit square at the top which cause the valve to shut very fast and will cause the valve head to break off. loud tapping noises normally give this away and just adjusting teh valves clearances or replacing the rocker wont fix it . will require the camshaft to be removed and repaired or replaced. looks a bit like this which then causes this
