e34 , e32 , e36 onwards . all have teh same feature , when you pull upto a stop or going real slow the wipers go from number 1 speed to intermitant then as you drive off they go back to number 1 speed. as to the other fault , check for vac leaks ,air hoses split etc and or clean /lube or replace the icv (idle control valve) . also could be worn afm etc . but check the simple things first .

all M30 engines have ZF trans . 4hp22 . convert to manual and you have a good car .

had a 88 VL 3L 5spd for 4 years , drove ok , i did a bit of work to it . brought it with 130k on the clock sold it with 300k on the clock . was good untill about 250k when every 10k something failed , like battery , alternator , starter , head cracked(under the cam) headers kept breaking the head stuts so fitted aftemarket headers . they rust and leak . not the best handling car and i had fitted a lower set of springs and shocks in it . used to consistantly get about 600km per tank and one time about 700km but that engine was pretty good but a bit detunned by holden i think. my mates old man had a turbo one , apparantly went pretty hard even in automatic form

yes still hacve some e28 doors and maybe even in the right colour

sth african made . lots of extras , like cruise , obc , steel belly pan protector, recaro seats , long range fuel tank etc etc , made basis for manual conversion , nice wheels and suspension etc

check tappet clarences , should only move a small amount , check for wear grooves on the cam lobes etc

check if it has the black hoodlinning , that will tell you . black hoodlinning . mtec body kit , sport seats , (normally half leather) sports steering wheel with thumb grips and blue and red stitching etc
