  1. I'm firmly in the clear indicator camp. Orange is just not visually appealing on a dark car. Going clear emphasises the red on the rear lenses (which works wonderfully on a black car) and cleans up the front end. If you do the wheels, then orange lenses will distract the eye. meh. I just dont like orange lenses full stop. Never have.
  2. Pics are mandatory. Be keen to see where you get to with turbo idea, general consensus on the 'net seems to be that there's a lack of space. Always wanted to put a couple of td05's running in parallel on an M60/62, reckon it would be awesome! Agree with Brent that a live remap is the way to go. worth spending the coin on imo.
  3. Easy. Buy a good sized semi rural property locally, sort out immediate family and help some close friends, Immediately buy an E39 and an E60 M5. IMO the two hottest cars BMW has produced. Then i'd treat my E34 to a complete overhaul with as many new parts as i can find. A blown 4.4 on the cards. With this done i'd talk to a financial advisor regarding the remaining 28 Million hahah. As for my time Travel, cars and some charitable work. I'd spend a good amount of time in Italy and france too.
  4. Some slang it could be prudent to know. meke (pronounced: mehkey/mickey) = choice, bro. IE: churr, thats a tight e30 you have there. that shits meke as! mint = see meke choice - see meke churr - Means positive acceptance. IE: "got me some mean as weed cuz. Wanna sesh?" "churrr bro" good cu*t - Good person, term of endearment. socially acceptable in most circles. Most importantly, there is a prevailing belief in this country that BMW Driver = Wanker. (btw, wanker is mild cuss word here, much like a**hole) Also, if things are a little more complex than "bobs your uncle" allows for, then use "bobs your auntie".
  5. That's scrubbed up well! It has been sitting at mike's for ages. Been eyeing it for a while, but the wife would kill me if i bought another dead BMW. Though Pedal box and seats would come in handy.... hmmm.
  6. Wow, That thing is stunning. Remember very fondly the 635's and then the M3's ripping it up around the streets of Wellington. Went to every meeting held on the waterfront. Wonderful memories indeed.

    BMW accident

E36 looks in pretty good shape for a 200k impact. This is what a 1989 corolla looks like after a 120k impact. Right headlight to right headlight. Took three hours to cut me out. Legnum in the background was the other vehicle in the equation:
  8. Absolutely stunning looking and sounding bright red E-Type V12 coupe carving it up round the basin. Made my day.
  9. Really wish I was in a position to buy this. Hope like hell that it stays in the bimmersport family. Good luck with the Sale Simon!
  10. +1. Used it in my Subaru and was well impressed. As for the OP, I would try fuel pump/ECU.
  11. Pop in to your local Subaru parts dept and pick up a can of upper engine cleaner. Works much like that seafoam sh*t they use in the states. Follow instructions on the can. Its part of subarus official servicing regime. Works a treat. OP could try this too.
  12. +1 on the pics. probably cant add them cos they need resizing.

  14. Yea bro. Is a bit of a goat track up top and on the western side, many many places where there's only just room enough for two vehicles side by side, and a few where theres not room for two vehicles side by side. Lots of idiots coming the other way will simply stop where they are rather than move over so you need your wits about you. Used to drive it lots to visit my mate in upper hutt, and also take my truck bush up odlins road (4wd track at the summit). Is a choice drive, but reasonably slow going.
  15. Paekak hill is awesome in both directions. Downhill heading north really sorts the men from the boys. Do have to say this though as the road features quite often in my daily commute: Stick to your own lane, don't push *too* hard and for gods sake watch out for oncoming traffic! With the right vehicle driven in the right manner the road is spectacularly rewarding. Also have to agree with M5V8 regarding wanganui to ohakune - absolutely awesome drive.
  16. \ Be able to start sourcing parts in a few weeks. cant wait! Opened the shed for the first time in ages tonight and got a little sad at her neglected state haha
  17. if you like driving dont get monroes. difference between monroes and bilsteins on an e34 is like night and day.
  18. Before the gearbox shat itself, i was getting an average of 14l/100k in my sedan. That was with a good mix of city/highway driving. On long trips i would regularly see 10l/100km I agree on your thoughts about it being a cool V8 wagon etc, but especially being a dealer i'd be doing everything i could to screw him to the wall on price. Sounds like it could need shocks and springs etc - there's about 2k. Good bargaining point? Agree it needs new rims. Staggered Schnitzer type III's would be my pick!
  19. I Appreciate the rarity, But its still quite expensive for an Automatic E34.
  20. Go for flowmasters or something of that ilk. I Never had any luck getting the exhaust tone right on my 540, but once i get the manual in there i'm planning on getting a full mandrel bent system made up by someone that knows V8's and BMW V8s, everything else i've tried sounds like ass.
  21. Mate, exactly what I have been saying for years.
  22. Compared to anything any seller over there seems to be able to offer, they're dirt cheap. Been given a quote for shipping a gearbox which is peanuts compared to every other quote i've had.
