  1. Nice car. Qsystem auto pwns sillyspeed hands down. Only comment I have its cambelts are 60k items in the v6. Am rather partial to Alfas myself, and a 156 it on my to own list.
  2. I have a set of cam locking blocks, crank locking pin and vanos sprocket alignment tool. Am based in the Wellington area.
  3. Nathan's. though I think he might have sold it. was after big money iirc. nice car tho
  4. ^^ big cheese accountant for Toyota nz is family. He rates the 86 from both perspectives!
  5. Finally found the cause of my spiking temp: two blockages, one in gallery just after bleed screw on expansion tank, and failing rubber diaphragms in the heater control valve. Will need a new valve at some point, but at least it runs right now.
  6. .Yeah, not sure about the forestry claim, but the RSB Was rated to 206kw factory, however had a hybrid primary turbo and some trickery to reduce vod. BD5 is a significantly lighter car than an e39. My RSB was quicker than both e34 540s I've owned.
  7. So. Challenger/charger, camaro, mustang, fairlane?, camaro, hq ute, ranchero, firebird
  8. Black Ute a ranchero?, blue car definitely a dodge, either challenger out charger. Think it's a challenger tho
  9. TT RSB was about 5.5 secs, so that seems about right for a healthy single turbo, provided it was manual and not running a td04.
  10. 202km. 128no according to the odo
  11. ^^missus has a cvt. Hate it with a passion.
  12. Get it scanned, but my money is on cam/crank sensor. Take it in to see Glenn.
  13. Any idea if the fm tuner gets nz frequencies, or if it's Japan?
  14. Added an aux input to factory system. Hooked in to the tape feed at back of head unit. Is a bit lower level than CD and radio tho. Still, good to have all my sounds back!
  15. Rubbish. I did 120ks of thrashing the tits off my RSB. they can handle being driven hard just fine. What they don't like is sub par fuel and a poor servicing regime.
  16. They are only heaps of crap if they haven't been looked after. Find one that's been serviced properly, with the right grade of oils, and they are as reliable as anything else. The twin turbos have their flaws, but they can be dialed out well enough. I'd own another in a heartbeat.

    X5 Offroading?

Fully independent soft Roaders will never be able to out perform a truck with solid axles when traversing terrain that isn't a formed road. Basic physics. I once took a corolla station wagon to the top of devils gate. Doesn't mean it was any good off road.
  19. Sorry for the hijack, but Where did you get the brass bleeder screws from? I resorted to two oil feed banjo bolts from a Subaru vf18 turbo. Perfect size and work much like a bleeder screw. However would like to replace with brass screws.
  20. Best option initially world be to suffocate fire with a damp cloth. I speak from experience lol
  21. Thu, all my bmws (v8s incl) have been better on gas on the open road than any of my turbo subarus. It's the city driving and traffic that eats the gas on a big car like an e39.
  22. Iirc, I think last time I started with 1500 and then moved to 2000. Keep it well lubricated
  23. Sand headlight, buff with compound then polish then clear coat. Autosol works ok depending on how bad they are, but the sand, machine buff and clear coat method works best and will last.
  24. If you find a set of mpars, I have a single 18x8.5. Would make a good spare
