GT Mechtronix are one of the sketchiest outfits i've come across.... The new key outers they use are cheap junk really - the buttons dont sit properly on one i got from them & their service was shocking - like they were doing me a favour. The key guys were locked in a room upstairs which was off limits & the guy downstairs had no idea really. They couldnt even get the invoice right for what they quoted me - $95 for a new key outer using my internals which sounds exactly like what you have had only you had the priveledge of a $350 invoice. I would much rather spend the $300 at Team McMillan or JC BMW.

Personally, i would go or the 6 cyl every day of the week. Fuel consumption wont be 12l/100km unless you sit in traffic 90% of the time. Even my E46 330 was better than 11 in traffc and got down as low as 7.4 on the open road. At 1000km/week i would expect around 8l/100km from a 330 & probably similar with a 320. I actually own an E90 320D & while it goes well, the E90 is a cheaply built car compared to the E46.

Just out of interest how much is the insurance willing to cover? Don't answer if you're not comfortable saying.

What were the fees & how is it fraudulent? Everything coming into the country attracts GST (and sometimes duties) - Customs just dont bother collecting on less than $400 landed cost as their transaction & paperwork costs the same as what they would collect. If they are actually passing those costs onto the NZ Government then it seems ok to me.

$20k ouch. Just throw some 90wt oil in there.... Worked a treat on the old Sunbird when that ran a bearing - ran for years. Get the used engine in there then get yourself an engine stand & rebuild the stuffed one yourself.

You might also find that Jo at Eurosurgeon knows something about it.

I too have had a good run from Toyos on previous cars. I put Pirelli P7's on my wifes car not that long ago & am pretty happy with them so far. I have Bridgestone RE002's on my 3 series and wouldnt recommend them from personal experience.I should note that i also had a great experience with assymmetric Michelins on my E46 but found they were ridiculously priced to replace when I was looking.

What do you need in the car? I'm guessing it needs the factory usb connection to work, and this is just a bluetooth connection to that system? Just wondering what i do with my car as hardwiring it every time is a pain - but mine doesnt have the factory usb. At this point im thinking of hotwiring an airport express to run off 5V & putting a cigarette lighter to usb in the arm rest - which can be plugged into the auxilliary in the spot.

Did you fill it with water?

My old one did. I always thought it was standard issue, but i guess it could have been an option.

Oh, bummer....

Prefer my bbq to be on a weber... I cant see anything bar scrap there. I wouldn't trust that the heat hasn't tempered the steel thats left.

What spare wheels do you use for your e90? or alternatives?

Daikin is all you need to know if you want to get setious.... Their only fault is some of the aesthetics arent that flash. Mitsubishi Electric (not Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) would be my second choice & probably have some of the better looking units. Never had a good experience with Panasonic heat pumps.

Mne did that a couple of times when the exhaust cam sensor was kaput. I suspect it was overfueling that fouled a plug at startup as it goes into a safe mode. Best get it scanned.

And Roberto Ravaglia....

Oh my..... Emanuelle Pirro was also a favourite of mine back in the 80's. Thats pretty special all right

Personally i'd be going for the 6cyl for smoothness but not a motorsport - i hate the front bumper on them. Reminds me of a mouth breather ....

They were pretty good when i got some VW bits from them last year.

Does this beast come out in the daylight or is it exclusively a creature of the night? I only ask as almost all of your photos are dark & it might help with selling it.... Actually thats not quite true... I want to see what the black wheels on red car look like in the light. My E90 is red & i have some black BBS wheels i was going to put on it that I'm not sure about.

I would be asking for a replacement first. Disconnection every few hours is a warranty return surely?

Im not really a fan of the E36 but those 2 are both nice cars.

Electrical gremlin eould be my guess from the description too.
