great read. hopefully the dealer does a good job on the repairs and car checks out well. sounds like you deserve it after reading your post!
-
you cant blame the dealer tbh. it was a bargain at 10-11k and easily worth more.. either way its a shame it didnt go to a nice new owner.. lets all secretly pray that it doesnt sell and the dealer holds onto it for 6 months or more

it was a beauty.. got to see the listing before it was withdrawn. it was a kind of brown bronze colour with the alpina stripe decals on the side, alpina multispoke wheels and badge on steering wheel and it was manual (from my memory) looked very very tidy for its age. wonder who got it. reasonably priced too at around 11k asking or there abouts

Sounds like a typical low grade import from these so called "professional" import dealerships. I would definitely rather buy a NZ New example from a private owner than go thru the hassle of getting a grade 2.5 or 3 import that needs to get repairs done (probably at the cheapest possible workshop with the cheapest possible parts). Good thing you got the PPI done, otherwise it sound have cost you heaps to repair all the things in that list.

Did you buy from a dealer? How much did this beast set you back? I am trying to justify buying one for myself but its a tad on the expensive side

get rid of it asap and buy yourself a real bmw -
Anywhere between 5-15k imo. 5k for a high mileage rough 2.5L non msport Or 15k for a 100k'ish kms 3L msport And Everything in between. But realistically, I would say aim to find a good one around 8k or a bit more if it ticks your boxes and has good service history

standard silver, not bronze. Took the photo at night with indoor amber lighting against wooden floor makes it look brownish
