qube replied to Rubix's topic in Want to buy
You should have jumped on this when it was listed, sold now.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1170479881.htm this looks good http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1176326490.htm -
If anyone wanted to an e39 m5, this would easily be the one to buy.

If you buy an E30 for $2000, you may need to spend $1000-5000 on it. or you could spend $8000 on it and maybe not spend anything more. Impossible to determine what needs doing as each car is different and has lived different lives. One thing I can tell you for sure is that YOU WILL WANT to spend money on it whether its making it mechanically mint or aesthetic/performance mods. Its definitely not a cheap car like a corolla but parts are plentiful and relatively inexpensive if you are willing to learn and work on the car yourself/with friends and help from others (plenty on the forum). But if you have a small/modest budget you could still come out with a decent E30 that is mechanically reliable and a solid DD if you are happy to sacrifice some luxuries such as non ripped seats, crack free dashboard, worn suspension components etc. lol..

decide for yourself. as a daily, 130 would be better but it just wasnt as amazing as i had hoped. especially when the price difference isnt much for a more fun sportier car (that will cost u heaps in maintenance :D)

probably cant do tonight. ill flick u a txt

Hey Dave do u still need a new OBC? I found one in my box of random stuff (see my for sale post). If u wana come round try it sometime and see how the pixels are happy for you to take it! - free Im just not sure if the pixel condition is any better but worth a shot I guess

Had this thought myself for a little while. test drove a few. Didnt feel much superior to my 325i E91 in terms of power but handling was good overall and pretty good chassis as long as its proper msport. Biggest let down is the runflat tyres and also now the fact that they are getting fairly old and still demanding a relatively high price tag (imo) for what it is. You could pick up a E90 330i for 5k+ less than the cost of an E87. Decided against it unless I was willing to go for a manual 130i otherwise better bang for buck would easily be a 135i/335i seeing as the prices are dropping like crazy now.

Haha, no Dion. I am trying to reduce the number of cars, not increase them! I have my trusty E39 that I love too much. Cheers SJ, its really a great car but as I said, E39 takes all my love so this needs a nice new owner to take care of it. Feel free to make any offers to anyone who is interested. Its a shame to leave it sitting here not being driven

Have a random box of E36 stuff: Automatic (facelift) aircon control unit $50 --> $40 11 button OBC unit $100 --> on hold window switches, trims, speakers $20 --> free pick up or just pay for courier door panel coin pocket thing $20 --> $10 cd changer and cartridge with mounting bracket $100 --> $50 Not sure what these things are worth but need to put prices so just make an offer.

Standard E36 offset for anything around 7.5-8" is around ET35-40. Anything more than 40 it will look too far in towards the car leaving a huge gap and anything less than ET25 usually starts looking pretty aggressive. If you wanted a staggered set up I would look towards the specs of the style 24's which is ET41 front and rear for 7.5/8.5 and work from there. I would personally try to go for something around ET30-35 to fill it up a bit nicer but all depends on the wheel/tyre size you want to run. 225/45 front 245/40 rear is good from my experience

probably around $700-1000 depending on condition for the style 32's. I have a set of bbs 17s for sale if you are interested pm me

the things with the 18x8's off an E38 (same as the ones off an E31) is that it has a very low offset of only ET13 so its very difficult without going full stance/stretched tyres/camber/rolled or flared or widebody guards to fit them on an e36/46. I think yours are off the E34 isnt it Jooles? which means your 18x8's are ET20.
