  1. the photo you have linked is "titan line" from the E39 M5. very rare. the more common version is "brushed aluminum" which is a lighter silver colour. https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=769012
  2. would look good on the e91 coupe also
  3. im so curious as to what the idle problem is..
  4. anyone have some lying around otherwise will have to order some for N42
  5. I had thought about the option of maintaining the factory stereo + climate control at the top area and where the cubby hole flap door is, mount a sony/jvc unit behind it and close the door. Super stealth. Cant remember if there is enough depth for a headunit behind there, its been a while since i've opened up an e46 console..
  6. would you believe it Jon? I dont have a single wheel, let alone any sets in storage at the moment...
  7. https://www.trademe.co.nz/2163784198 $20 locally in nz if you dont want to wait 3 weeks
  8. looking for something along the lines of bbs, ac schnitzer, any genuine BMW wheel but MUST be 8" wide at least, max 9" and offset between 20-40ish. square or staggered is fine and dont need tyres either. Cheers!
  9. nice write up, wish there were pics of the old cars but its ok. you made up for it with plenty of the 335. only thing i dont like is the black mirrors looks a bit odd to me but the front lip looks nice colour matched white!
  10. aha, eek is right! All the best for your new car ownership. saw it on GP and looks slick as hell.
  11. i've always had this opinion since my first and only experience with mechanical warranty on the mercedes e class I used to have. it cost somewhere around $3000 for 3 years, had 1 issue with the fuel pump that would have cost me $2000 out of pocket but instead a $500 excess. BUT, I had to get my oil services done professionally $3-400 instead of $100-150 it costs me to DIY at home, and as part of the mechanical warranty they require you to do a trans service which cost me $600 or so. so after all that, i was actually probably worse off or about the same as if I had just kept the money for the warranty in a spare bank account and used it as required. Of course, if something even more major happened then I would have been better off but the car had only done 50,000kms at the time so what could possibly go wrong? I didnt buy mech warranty for my M135 but in the end had to fork out over 3k in repairs for water pump and valvetronic etc so maybe I should have gotten the warranty but still, the higher servicing costs and headaches associated with it steers me towards the road of not going for the warranty despite all thats happened.
  12. no mechanical warranty? feel your pain..

    Eurotrip 2019

Thanks for the inputs so far and keep em coming. The few flights that I have found are from Auckland to either: amsterdam, paris, berlin, brussels, and more and they are all similarily priced. So once I decide where to start the journey i will fly there, then take trains for the close places otherwise consider flying if its further. interesting view about belgium, i thought it would have been more interesting but maybe not. It was considered because its so close to netherlands but i dont have any reason to insist on it. I think Paris is probably a good starting point otherwise berlin but apparently the flight to berlin is operated by scoot (the euro jetstar?) not sure about that..

    Eurotrip 2019

Will be heading over to amsterdam and nearby areas later on this year between 27.09 - 13.10. Only thing decided is the return flight from Stockholm Sweden. I havent decided where I will fly to yet, maybe Brussels, Berlin, Paris, etc. lots of options. (waiting for good deals to pop up for tickets) Any recommendations on places to go/visit? Only requirement from the trip is need to spend 5 days in Amsterdam, otherwise totally free to travel anywhere around.
  15. its not an m3 bumper, just standard msport. the covers are available from the dealership for $40 or so and foglights you can get them from any e46 wrecker for cheap.
  16. maybe because it was short start stop around the block. driven normall no hard acceleration or anything, its slow anyway
  17. 7km/l around town on a e91 325i. pretty shocking actually

    F3x Motors

I havent read the book but I can fit as much in my 1 compared to our old E91 325i wagon. The shape of the boot on the 1er, width and height means I can fit more and easier than the wagon. Only compromise is length but you can always leave it open and tie it down if required.

Just to clarify, you are talking about the N series motors right? pre MY2015 I think they are decent and wouldnt rule it out if you just want a car for practicality. Only thing for me is I would want to be paying much less for a 320i for example when I know I can get a 330i/335i for not a lot more and get heaps more fun.
