  1. oooo that sounds meaty. I think I like it better than the RS4 mufflers
  2. White e30 m3 heading north on the motorway around the Greville on/off ramp. Treat to see in the wilds.
  3. Mine has been de-catted. Pre-cat O2 sensors only, so just replaced cats with resonators, still running the O2 sensors in the same place (in the resonator). No drone in the cabin at all. Doesn't make it a lot noisier, but maybe a bit more rasp at high rpms. As far as i'm aware, the later models have the post O2 sensors, so it might be a bit more complex. Maybe spacers or a ECU flash would be in order. Would be worth working out whether you have only pre-cat sensors or not. edit: spells
  4. I had a 2013 Yaris rental that had wiper mounted jets. Before the wiper started moving you had a 1-2 second jet of wiper fluid spurting out horizontally. Was particularly hazardous for passing pedestrians.
  5. Awesome stuff! Precisely the same thing happened to me when pulling off door cards, I think the adhesive that holds the plastic panels to the card just decays and when you pull off the door card, the plastic panels get left behind. I used gorilla glue to much the same effect.

    E36 items for sale

Hi - keen on the strut brace if it is still available.
  7. I see a silver e46 330 vert almost every day heading south near silverdale on the motorway. Number plate 330CAB. Always looks great.
  8. I use Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30 in our Legacy Turbo, the Golf, plus my M3. Kinda depends on engines, but everyone seems to have their own opinions. Probably not as vital as in the US, as we don't get near the temperature variations they do.
  9. Caught the Targa prep 1M in Parnell. Edit: actually a 135i
  10. Had a very interesting drive to work thismorning: Silver 1M in full racing livery E30 on a trailer in fully racing livery My favorite black e60 M5 (MMMMM5) All headed south on the motorway a bit north of Albany
  11. I had a drive in a mate's mate's silver Murciélago a few years back. One week later, he sold it for $300k, then the new owner overshot a corner in Parnell and wrote it off. These cars seem to attract a certain kind of person. This incident: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/motoring/news/article.cfm?c_id=9&objectid=10355901 This is the car:
  12. Damn, that Recaro baby seat is awesome.

  18. Great pics! Bummed I couldn't be there.
  19. I found kero and turps works quite well. If WD40 isn't working though, not sure how much help that'll be.
  20. Super satisfying headlight restoration: No moisture or dirt, I think it was clouded up with similar stuff you get on the inside of your windscreen from plastics gassing off over time. Undergoing surgery Lens out, cleaned, resealed. Ellipsiods before/after cleaning. After: Looks sooooo much better.
  21. My first car. 1988 1.5L Mirage GLX Manual (cyclone!!111!) Bought it off my sister when I was about 16 after she pulled out in front of a ute and mangled the front up a bit. Had belonged to my grandmother before then, who bought it brand new. See front fender damage in the pic. With liberal use of a crowbar a new $15 headlight was fitted, and we were good to go. Gave me a few years of faithful service. Replaced with the crusading Camry. 2.2 Manual, with 16" Reflexs and oversized tyres, for ultimate cruising/gravel road ground clearance. Bought for $3700, sold for $3800 60k and four years later. Fantastic car.
  22. Mine is a five speed. Probably takes a bit of trial and error. I've heard people using MTF in the ATF stickered transmissions and having no trouble, so its a hard one for sure.
